Excellent doesn't even begin to describe the amazing experience I had for my wedding. Food was beyond amazing with guests still complementing me. The staffs service and was quick, efficient and polite, constantly offering refills of drinks for the bridal table etc. The venue was immaculately presented. The events coordinator Emma was an absolute gem suggesting a layout etc that suited me and what I was wanting. Value for money, great service and a beautiful venue.. there's nothing more I could have asked for. Well done to the RSL and all the staff for making my event nothing short of amazing! -Sharley
We called into the RSL for lunch on Sunday and were pleasantly surprised. Meals are reasonably priced and our orders came quickly. Good size meals that tasted good. It was fairly quiet, maybe one third full of diners. Staff were friendly and helpful. Meals bought to our table with a smile and plates cleared away quickly. Heaps of parking available. This is a good place to catch up with family and we would return.
Recently had the pleasure of dining at Lavaracks Restaurant upstairs at the R.S.L. The menu selection was excellent. Wine prices well priced. Had prawns tempura and Duck a la orange. Stunning. The only fault was inconsistent service. If this is rectified I would place this restaurant in must dine category. A very pleasant experience. Compliments to the chef and kitchen brigade.
Townsville RSL has recently upgraded it's more up-market restaurant, Lavaracks, and it's definitely not your average RSL fish 'n' chips and a burger dining experience. Wonderful innovative food, great service, and, most importantly, reasonable prices that you would not expect for such great food. Very slow service.Had one lady working on the bar and also taking food orders so took forever to get a drink. Food wasnt bad.. rather inexpensive. I think if you want to go somewhere cheap without the frills this would be a place to go to. Had a very large crowd in the Bingo and pokies if that is your thing.We wont be rushing back there
We visited for dinner and a few drinks but we're staying in the city. It's about a $15 cab ride each way. Food was good and quite a nice atmosphere in the club.Only recommendation would be to run a courtesy bus. We would have come back several nights if they had one.
When we got hooked on to the new menu last year it was superb. However, the past few months the better, healthier and definitely more expensive main courses have taken a turn for the worse. Unfortunately, we won't be returning any time soon.
