My two 13 year old daughters and I went here based on the trip advisor reviews for it. It was fabulous. We happened to be the only people there that night (we were early in the season) and the owner was amazing - so attentive and happy to have us. He explained the whole menu to us (we asked lots of questions!) and we had a really fabulous meal with lots of speciality swiss cooking. It was sooooo tasty and such good food! Up from the main street, Trais Portas, is a hidden gem, definitely not to be missed. Situated in a beautiful and traditional Engadiner-house, Trais Portas makes you feel at home with an inviting setup of little rooms and corners, not to mention the beautiful vegetable garden and terrace at the back. We really enjoyed our supper here. I had venison and my wife had a burger. The portions were generous but not overwhelming. The food was really delicious and the wine a half litre bottle was excellent. They also have a good selection of grappas....By Swiss standards the restaurant was not expensive at all. The service was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is located in a 400 year old building and is beautifully appointed. Trais Portas is a little off the beaten track but still very central. I can highly recommend this place.

The trais portas steakhouse in the beautiful old town of scuol, engiadina is a truly authentic steakhouse, which is even a trip to scuol worth. It's an amazing small steakhouse with a great, friendly team and service, that fulfills all your wishes.The best place to eat excellent meat and drink a great selection of red wine, in the whole valley of engiadina.My personal recommendation is the tomahawk steak (reservation necessary!)
Great meat, well cooked. Don't go here if you are not hungry as the 300g steak is at least 300g :-) The place is in an old building, booking is recommended as tables are limited. If you have children in a stroller maybe this is not for you as you have to climb some steep stairs to get to the restaurant.
Perfect service from the point of view of a very picky person. The food was excellent. Atmosphere is cozy and owner is very welcoming. I recommend the deer if you go there in autumn with the mais pancakes. The pumpkin soup as a starter was amazing. Defo go there if you stop by scuol
We had dinner here and were amazed! We tried the bison, and the beef entrecôte and followed several of the preceding reviewers in trying the toblerone mousse for dessert. The owner suggested a great wine for us as well. Food, service, atmosphere - all were fantastic.
