Haven't been in this hotel for ages, and so when I went, on a beautiful sunny autumn Sunday, it was fabulous to see that it was still as I remembered - funky, with pokey rooms (being an angular corner pub) off long walkways, and the main bar which is accessed off the street on the corner of the building. Had a great beer (can't remember the name) from the tap - not much of a head, but great taste. Hungry, so settled on a Bacon - Cheese 'burger, as I had heard they are great, with a side order of Autumn Salad - excellent combination of char-grilled vege (cauliflower, red pepper, mushroom) and salad leaves, and a tangy dressing. One nice touch was when the meal was presented, a bottle of tomat...
Okay, I have to admit that I haven't tried one of the burgers here, but that is because, like many of the other places that I have visited, I tend not to read the reviews of the place before (or even when) I visit the place. In fact I tend to only read the reviews after I have been there. However, this is one of those quiet pubs hidden away in the backstreets of Fitzroy, which means that you can sit out the front without worrying about a huge number of cars (or trams) roaring past. The atmosphere is really nice, and they do have a smokers haven down the side. It's a nice pub, and I probably should come back and check out their burgers.
Since it's transformation 18 months ago the Tramway Hotel has just taken off!The range of burgers and other food is right on for value and taste for pub food.A bonus is the excellent range of very interesting boutique beers on tap. There are some gems in the beers offered.
Good place for a wind down pint, burgers are great too... Especially on burger and pot night! Its a shame the outdoor smoking area is no longer for smoking, but hey I'm not complaining Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Great location, we walked across here after a game of bowls in Edinburgh gardens. The vegetarian burger I had was fantastic, staff were friendly and there was lots of seating
A great local with a real "pub" feel. Dropped in for a drink and returned for a meal. Would enjoy going again to see when they have live music performing.
I eat here pretty much once a week, chilled vibes and really yummy food. Burgers Mac N Cheese for the win. Love the fireplace in winter too.
