It is a while since visiting due to our previous average experience. Booked for New Years Eve and they said they could squeeze us in at 18:00. Arrived to an almost empty restaurant (it did fill up later). Service was good as there were so many waiters with nothing to do. Started with 3 pops, chutney tray, a portion of lime pickle which totalled nearly £6, a tad over the top if you ask me. Having lived nearby and frequented other local Indian restaurants, we decided to try this place for our anniversary. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Despite pre-booking, we walked into a fairly quiet restaurant with plastic tablecloths, paper napkins, and plastic flowers. The coke I ordered for my wife was flat, but after requesting a change, it was better. The wine was good, and the starters and food were okay. However, there were some issues with cleanliness and presentation. The young staff member was pacing back and forth like he was on a military march, and when I asked for mint sauce, it was served on a plate with an England flag napkin. Very disappointed early Saturday evening walked in to restaurant very quiet and empty tables everywhere. Firstly told we couldn’t be sat down ?? Then fold if we could eat and be done within hour they will accommodate us. Food was ok at a push service and atmosphere was terrible in fact the waiter dropped plate in front of wife with no apology. We had to put food back onto plate. When complained the waiter wasn’t bothered and was sarcastic … poor atmosphere and others could hear the waiters comments. Won’t be going on there again
we ordered the set meal for two..which included main meals chicken tikka massala and a chicken bhuna...my bhuna tasted like fairy liquid it was that bad i actually spat it straight back out..never ever tasted anything like it, very perfumy it wasn t lemongrass or corriander the taste was soap.. tasting like fairy liquid is the perfect discription..the tikka had the same taste..to be honest it felt a little bit like a wind up..a joke ...absolutely yuck... After enjoying numerous meals at this restaurant over the years, we decided to try their takeout recently. Unfortunately, we felt like we were served reheated leftovers. The naan bread was tough and the pastry on the samosas was also tough. Although the main dish was flavorful, there were some tough pieces of chicken. Additionally, we noticed a significant increase in prices. We will be opting to try the takeaway place across the road next time.
We used to live not far from the eating place but moved several years ago, we always enjoyed the good food and a chat with the staff. Last week we booked in with our family for my wife’s birthday and found the food was absolutely spot on in every respect. We had a great evening and a chat with the brothers who run the restaurant. Can’t wait for next time
We went for a meal and decided to take advantage of the special meal for 2 offer with a free bottle of house wine. We weren’t disappointed,we enjoyed our starter of chicken tikka and also our main courses, also the house wine was great. The service was excellent and we cannot fault our dining experience
