We chose Truva based on Yelp reviews and the proximity to where we were. The experience was wonderful from the moment we walked in. We were lucky enough to find a spot right in front, we were greeted and seated promptly in their outdoor seating area. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Our drinks were out within 3 minutes. We ordered all the food at once and asked they bring it as it became ready. The appetizers were out shortly thereafter, and the kababs came later. Everything was tasty and fresh, the meat was flavorful and tender. I have no complaints, my kids and my elderly mother in law all enjoyed everything. Highly recommend this restaurant , the prices are very feasible too!...
I simply asked for french fries in my sandwich. It shouldn’t be this hard to satisfy clients needs when we pay whatever it is and don’t receive proper care. They forgot to send my bread last time when I ordered, another time was my drinks and so on. I love their menu but their preparation needs to be checked. That one time when they forget my bread I called them and said “ you guys always forget something on my orders and I keep ordering. I won’t be ordering again “ the lady who answered the phone said “ if that’s the case why you are ordering “ not even saying sorry or asking me if i want my bread. How I suppose to eat food with no bread. Definitely this was my last time eating from there....
We really had a great time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was great, which is why I didn't mind when they automatically charged me 18% gratuity. As a matter of fact, I left extra tips as a thank you for the staff. We all enjoyed the dishes and the portion as well. Dessert was also delicious, along with the Turkish coffee. Chicken Shish Kebab was OK. There are 4 pieces of chicken in the small portion. The accompanying tomato and salad come in a separate container. The tomato is NOT grilled as depicted in the photo, however. The bread that came with the order was also mediocre, possibly stale. The Lentil Soup was also just mediocre. The Lahmacun came folded and soggy. The toppings were watery, and I am scared to even try it.
Great Turkish feat at this place by the end of the elevated train in Astoria. Place is spacious. There s a terrace in the back. We started with various platillos or mediterranean Turkish starters. The bread was very good. My friends ordered a huge tray of grilled meats in the Turkish style. If was a very good experienced even by someone who has visited Turkye twice. Will be back.
I'm Turkish and in my unbiased opinion, this is the best and most authentic Turkish restaurant in the city. Try Lamb Adana Kebab, lahmacun and manti.
