This museum attraction is quite charming, featuring a wonderful array of exhibits to explore. To truly appreciate everything it has to offer, I recommend joining one of the guided tours, as there is much more to discover beyond what’s initially accessible. There are reported to be 3 miles of tunnels, and my partner estimates that the tour covers about 1 to 1.5 miles over its 90-minute duration. While this isn't really my cup of tea due to my discomfort with the open spaces in the tunnels, my partner found the tour to be fascinating and well worth the modest fee. He was engaged the entire time, and if you do find it challenging to stay deep within the tunnels, there are friendly team members...
Unknown to me, Ramsgate Tunnels is a very interesting place with memorabilia from WW2 and what took place in these tunnels. I missed the guided tour but even though, i spent an enjoyable time looking at all souvenirs from this era and that place peculiarly. There is a small drinks and snacks bar area with lots of outdoor seatings, quite handy when you want to seat and relax, with a good vue of the sea. Prices start at £5 for children and £8 for adults, you can also add a guide for up to £24.50
I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the leader was an excellent spokesperson. He made everything interesting and easy to understand without overwhelming us. We also had a knowledgeable and friendly guide for security. I would definitely recommend this place!
I didn't just get into the tunnel because I wasn't aware of the entry fee. but shortly after the nice staff and the entrance there is a part of the tunnel that you can watch for free. Absolutely brilliant place to visitthe museum part, free, is excellent...but the tour, well worth the £8, is unbelievable...the story's bring everything to life and highlight the struggles our parents/grandparents went through....highly recommend...don't miss it
The local history was absolutely fantastic. All the staff were incredibly friendly, and the cake from the café was delicious. Our guide, Colin, was very informative. I highly recommend this place! Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes!
We visited the tunnels because we had seen it on TV and we weren't disappointed. We had a guide who had used the tunnels as a child and who now shares his knowledge with visitors. Well worth a visit if you like discovering history.
