What a unique and delightful lunch! Everything we ordered was delicious and SO flavorful!!! Portions are excellent and foods are fresh and come immediately from kitchen to table. Will definitely return to try even more delectable choices- food surprised us by being better than even the photos and outstanding reviews. We loved the Chicken , Shawarma, mom’s Moussaku, hummus, salad, falafel, and baklava. Vegetarian options: LOTS of tasty vegetarian options and they seemed eager to accommodate changes to foods you wanted served a little differently. Kid-friendliness: Friendly and interesting environment. Parking: Parked by door for free.
We used to travel specifically to Lexington for shawarma, but then we found Tut's in downtown Danville. It's an unexpected gem for a smaller town, but perhaps it's just right for Danville. Located just two doors down from the Art Center of the Bluegrass, this restaurant serves dishes that satisfy our cravings for something out of the ordinary. If you’ve never tried Mediterranean cuisine before, don’t feel daunted. The food is incredible, and the attentive waitstaff can help you choose a dish that you’re sure to love.
I've had my fair share of Mediterranean food, and I can confidently say this is one of the most satisfying meals I've enjoyed in Kentucky and Ohio. The chicken shawarma platter was so filling that I had to take some home, and that's saying something since I usually finish my plate! The grape leaves appetizer was tasty, but I would recommend the falafel if you're looking for something a bit more familiar. The dessert was wonderful, although they were out of the one I was really looking forward to trying.
I had an excellent experience at this restaurant! The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and everything arrived quickly. The bartender utilized fresh ingredients, which really enhanced the flavors. Enjoying a drink with a Mediterranean meal was a delightful touch. The staff at Tut's restaurant was friendly and eager to help. My girlfriend and I visited while participating in a Pup Crawl in Danville to support the humane society, so we only ordered the meatballs and a cocktail. She had the guava margarita, and I opted for a bottle of beer, though I discovered that the beer was a month past its expiration date. Despite that hiccup, we had a wonderful experience overall. We definitely plan to return!
The pandemic has been hard on restaurants and Tut’s is no exception. This used to be a great place (and still is) but they are having to build back their customer base amidst some new competition. Still good food and decent prices, but I think they waited too long to reopen. It’s worth the visit for sure if you like Mediterranean inspired food.
I remember when his business was just a small shop, and now it has grown into a fantastic small business that I'm thrilled to see expand! When he was unwell and had to undergo surgery, everyone in Danville was eagerly missing his delicious Egyptian food!
