We discovered this restaurant as a hidden gem and had a fantastic experience. We met our friends for lunch and will definitely return. I ordered a mimosa without orange juice and the server didn't hesitate. The menu was so diverse that it was difficult to choose, so we all got appetizers, which were half price. We ended up sharing and trying each other's dishes. The quesadilla was thick and filled with delicious ingredients, the fish and chips were excellent, the omelette was amazing, and the Shepard's pie received rave reviews. We ate at Twisted Fork for the first time today, and it won’t be the last. We went for breakfast with our young children. They ate off the kids menu (offerings are a choice of pancakes/eggs/french toast sticks with a side of bacon or sausage, as well as home fries and small fruit salad). My husband had the eggs Benedict which was fantastic. We especially enjoyed the sun dried tomato hollandaise sauce. Great twist on a classic dish. I had the smoked salmon Benedict with capers which was also tasty. The wait staff were very friendly. Just a bit pricey for a breakfast meal compared to other restaurants, but not unreasonable either. We will go here again!
Service was great and waitress was very attentive, unfortunately, really nothing special to say about the food. It was my first time here for dinner and ordered chicken strips (fingers) which came with your choice of sides for $12.00. Strips were over-fried and didn't really have much taste and neither did the sweet potato fries that I ordered as a side. Coffee was so strong neither of us could drink it and it was supposed to have been a fresh pot. Will keep looking for an eating place in Mount Albert
Set back from Main Street across from a park, you will find this hidden gem nice interior we were there on a holiday weekend and there should have been one more wait staff, as it was quite busy. Brought by a local who had been there multiple times before with a vegetarian. Friendly waitress but needed an extra person. Could see into the kitchen prep area. Busy with take out orders.. had to wait quite awhile for our orders but well worth the wait. Delicious! Worth driving 20 minutes NORTH for this!
This past week, we ordered take-out for the Creamy Chicken Penne, the Club Sandwich and the french onion soup. The Creamy Chicken Penne is going to be ordered again tonight; it is really excellent! The french onion soup was also very tasty and filling, as was the club house with the grilled veggies awesome fries! We didn't have to wait very long to pick it up. I would even come here from Newmarket!
I made a reservation for 5:30 PM and arrived at 5:25 PM. We were told to sit anywhere but waited for 45 minutes without even receiving a menu. A couple that came in at 6:00 PM was served before us, even though their order was taken at 6:05 PM. We decided to leave the restaurant at 6:15 PM as we were still waiting for service. This was the worst service I have ever experienced.
I was pleasantly surprised by the great food and service at this unassuming neighborhood restaurant. It has a cozy diner atmosphere rather than a traditional pub or bar vibe, and the diverse mix of customers, including couples, families, and groups of friends, added to the pleasant experience. I definitely plan on returning in the future.
No matter what your taste, you are sure to find something that will tantalize your taste buds. Warm friendly service. The best part is they also cater and what an amazing job they do of that.
Visited on wing day and was so surprised with the huge size of the wings. Great cook on them and even better taste
