We chose to dine in, it had seating but it's predominantly a take-away service so there were three tables to choose from. The service was quick and polite, with food being freshly made. We arrived not long after Umami opened, so the staff serving made sure the table we at was wiped down and clean for us. The food was said to be out roughly 15 minutes from ordering but it came out quicker than that. My sister ordered teriyaki tofu bento with duck oishi steamed buns (eyes bigger than her belly! Just been to this sushi box to pick up our order ,me an mr moore ,it smelt great when we picked it up ,ohh my god we wasn't disappointed, I had the sweet chilli chicken ,which was a whole meal on a platter with rice,dumpling ,an sides ,my partner had chicken teriyaki an jasmine rice,we also got the monster shrimp roll . We've got to say its the best meal we've had in the last year ,so fresh ingredients, flavours we're beautiful cooked to perfection thankyou so much ,and the service was great to from phonecall to staff at pick up .
This restaurant is a complete joke. You don't get what you pay for, the staff are rude, and it is the worst place to eat. I have so much more to say, but I'll hold my tongue. Do not eat here. I caught the staff lying about the prices, and even though I mentioned it on the phone, they still charged me the higher price when I arrived. I didn't say anything again because there were people around, but it's unacceptable to scam your customers for just a few pounds. Service: Take out. Meal type: Dinner. Price per person: £20-30.
Food is amazing, it really is great. It would be even better if they didnt use single use plastic for their takeaway containers. Come on guys there are alternatives, think about them all going into landfill. I would feel a lot happier being your customer if you did. The ramen at this restaurant was terrible, tasting like a mix of cat food and spoiled chicken, with slimy noodles. There was no unique flavor, and the yakitori was also disappointing. The price per person was £30–40.
