The staff at the restaurant was friendly and kind, but the service was very slow due to being understaffed. There was one brand new person and one experienced person trying to handle everything on their own. We waited a long time to get checked in, order drinks, receive them, and get supplies for our project. Two people in our group didn't get their drinks for over an hour. The concept of choosing your own project was fun, with lots of options and designs to choose from. It can be overwhelming to decide with so many choices. The restaurant is fun, but the prices are quite high compared to the quality. The drinks are reasonably priced for the area, but they are very strong on the mixers. The atmosphere is very loud, and despite many empty tables, you may be seated close to other people. Some are stamping necklaces, painting, or pounding nails, which can make it challenging to do your activity due to the table movement. I visited with a friend on 7/22 and made a stamped necklace, but the clasp broke the first time I wore it. I contacted the location directly via email and their contact form, but have not received confirmation of receipt or a response.
I've been here multiple times and it's always been great. Prices are clearly outlined on their website, and happy hour is such a great time since it's usually near-empty on the weekdays. Even on a weekend I didn't feel like I was brushing shoulders with people. Everyone is going to have a different experience with the crafts, but I've enjoyed every single one I've made and I completed them within the time time to hang out. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for a FUN experience to get your craftiness in full swing while also having some drinks this is your place. Upstairs Circus has a huge variety of crafts to make with tons of options for designs of each craft. Fun spot for friends or coworkers to meet, drink, and craft together! You can also bring your own food. Crafts took us longer than what’s noted for craft options but we were having a good time. Little pricey so I’d suggest picking a craft that you’ll get your money’s worth.
I had two gin and tonics while painting a picture. I am NOT artistically inclined but this was so fun and laid back and all of our projects, there were a group of six of us, turned out amazing! Pictured is a jewelry rack made by my friend.
Upstairs Circus was a fantastic place to have a Bachelorette party. Great atmosphere, great crafts, just a great place to be. Only complaint was the music was a little loud. But maybe that's just my age talking!
