Uptown Tavern - Tisch resevieren

I don't review places if I've had a had a bad experience but I will make an exception for a place that I went out of my way to return to because I enjoyed the food. My girlfriend and I usually go every Wednesday to get what we thought was a nice home cooked hamburger. Previous visits left us very happy, although the wait is usually longer than normal. We came today, another Wednesday and ordered immediately after sitting down because we know how long the service takes since there is one server for the whole restaurant and the bar. We decided to try a restaurant we hadn't tried before in Burlington so we went to the Uptown Tavern. It wasn't too busy when we arrived but we were early -close to 5 pm. I ordered the garlic bread with cheese and my husband had the calamari as apps. Both came out fast and both were delicious. I have actually never seen my husband order calamari but he ate the whole plate. I had to take some of the bread home with meMy husband ordered the curry with chicken and it certainly didn't disappoint. His idea of a good curry is one that makes him sweat and that he did. Went for dinner with family and while the apps were ok, they were obviously made from frozen product. Two of the mains were presented beautifully and both said they tasted ok. I had the Steak and mushroom Yorkie. The yorkie itself was more like a thick pie crust bowl than a true Yorkshire pudding. No flavour and very doughy. The filling of steak and mushrooms was lacking as well, while I had about 5 pieces of potato 3 pieces of steak in the gravy, I literally found one slice of mushroom.The gravy itself was very thick and not homemade. I have been to this restaurant several times and each time it is a HIT! We went for dinner last night as it was 2 for 1 wings. The server, Leone was excellent, friendly and recommended wings sauces and onion rings. We also had a bucket of nice cold Corona on sale and some fries as well.. The food was served in a timely manner, was nice and hot and was delicious! The cajun wings were to die for :) We also ordered a side of their curry, butter chicken to have with the fries,,,,so delicious!! Enjoyed lunch with a friend. The restaurant was very quiet but given the weather and the fact that it was a Monday, that wasn't surprising. Service was very attentive and friendly. We both ordered beers and my friend ordered a burger and fries and I the Street meat (hot dog) and fries.Both entrees were fresh, hot and the home cut fries were perfectly cooked. I was a bit surprised to discover that my hot dog was not automatically served with fries and only discovered this when I received the bill and saw that I was charged $5.50 for a side of fries.

Went there with my wife. We both ordered Top Sirloin with garlic mashed. I swear it was frozen meat taken out of freezer and heated for 30 seconds. When served, 25 minutes later and it wasn't busy, meat was cold and TOUGH and potatoes dry and tasteless. Didn't even serve gravy. We both had 2 drinks, paid the bill and left. Worst dinner I have ever had eating out. I'm not one to complain, and I didn't when the $85 dollar bill came, but I want people to be aware of what our experience was. Cheers

Went there because I heard good things, plus we had a wagjag. Good thing we didn't pay full price. Calamari $9 for very tiny portion!! Sirloin and potatoes ****...potatoes tasted watery and steak was tough (ordered it medium). Oh and forget about the service...pathetically slow! Place was dead so no reason for such slow service. I guess that's why it was dead because people know to go to better places.Ignore the good reviews...THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!!!!!

I have eaten lunch several times at the Uptown Tavern and have always had a very enjoyable meal. I go out regularly with a group of friends and we have already been twice to the Uptown based on the food, service and reasonable prices. I would recommend this to anyone looking for good value in a friendly, pub-style atmosphere. The homemade daily soup specials are excellent and I often order the quesadillas or the fish and chips which are also great. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

I can't comment on the food - we came to watch the live band on a Friday night. The place was busy, the band was good and the servers were on their game. My only complaint was that they left a couple of tables where everyone was dancing in front of the band, which made a constricted dance floor - they should move those if they have live music playing.

Came for dinner on a Friday night. At first it was quiet, but quickly picked up. The atmosphere is nice, and the service was great. I had the Butter Chicken wrap and fries. It was delicious! The fries are homemade and tasted amazing, worth the calories. My friend had the Yorkie and really enjoyed it. I would go back.
