This is an awesome place in a very comfortable way. The food is well-executed and fairly priced. I live in NYC, not Pasadena, but if we did we’d be here at least 2-3x a month (maybe more for healthy lunches).Nice street side patio, industrial vibe inside. Open kitchen. I used to have nice experience dining here, but today?s dinner completely changed my opinion. So although i stopped writing reviews since three years, I decided to write some words here. This was the WORST dining out experience ever since I came here in US. Both the portion and the quality of the foods we had were much worse than last time. I ordered the exact same dish as before and they first gave me about half the portion of the meat, which was overcooked and burnt. The meat was not tender and felt like chewing a rubber. After a morning with lots of walking through the Huntington Gardens, we decided on lunch at Urban Plates on Lake in Pasadena. Despite arriving right in the middle of the lunch rush, we received our orders quickly and accurately. The restaurant is large with indoor and outdoor options. The stations were clean and orderly. Had a comfortable dinner at urban plate.We ordered at the counter. Maria was very helpful responding to our questions. The menu could be overwhelming if you are first time here.Nashville hot chicken sandwich was delicious and reasonably priced!I ordered a salmon plate and it was healthy and comfortable.It's quiet with relaxing music.
Everything was burned and the burger had an extra burnt piece inside on the bun. I appreciate a grilled bun on a open flame but if you can’t do it maybe you shouldn’t. Anything on a bun or with bread was completely burnt. The 2 stars are because my daughter enjoyed her steak kids meal minus the toast that comes with it.
What a great and healthy food option to have here in Pasadena. Their menu features meals that I would make at home with pretty good quality ingredients. My ultimate unforgettable thing here was the pineapple coconut lime drink. It's so tasty and satisfying. Really great for a warm day.
After they didn't come here for a while, they reworked their menu. Other choices including different Entrées and pages. We ordered grass fed steak (it is on a dry side) w rosemary spices and carrots beet, and sea bass w avocado flower flower rice. A reasonable price for Sunday dinner.

Had the Grill Grass fed Steak Sandwich, and the meat was really bad. Cheap meat, very chewable. I changed it to a 5 star, cause they did reach out to me, and my wife's salad was really good. Customer service is fantastic.
