Urbania is a small and cozy shop where you can find specialty coffee from different origins (all of them Colombian , the atmosphere is really nice, and you can just relax and enjoy your time there with a nice cup of coffee and some pastries. The staff is very nice and friendly, and overall it is always a nice experience. On the other hand, I've found some consistency issues with their manually brewed coffee (chemex, drippers, french press... , you can have a great cup one day, and the next week order the same exact thing to find it has a completely different taste, same happens with their roasted beans, and even their bottled cold brew, which makes me think it's is a roastery problem and not...
I'm not a foodie. Urbania serves gourmet coffee. Some people are craft beer fanatics; some are foodies. I'm a coffee lover. We learned of Urbania while on the Bogota coffee tasting walking tour. Our guide knew our next stop after Bogota was Medillin. She told us where Urbania is, and it turned out to be 30 minutes easy walk from our hotel. Of course, we had to go.It was a tad hard to find, but again, maps.me came through. I'll never leave home without maps.meThe cafe didn't disappoint. Wonderful coffees were offered. The good Colombian coffee shops let you choose after smelling the fragrance of all their products. What we picked was delicious. Go.
I am a bit of a coffee snob. Even in the USA, there are only a handful of coffees that I think are worth consuming. Colombia specializes in Arabica beans, but the best batches get sent abroad. Ironically, finding good coffee is really difficult. You can get a very decent cup here. It is above average for even US standards. It's in a cool techie location, and the baristas speak some English. Free WIFI too. The only coffee better are from the direct producers who sell import...but most won't have access to those.
Had a great coffee (Chemex) here with a delicious mini pain au chocolat. The staff know coffee and are passionate about serving a good local coffee. My favourite little cafe in Poblado. Firstly because they sell great coffee and cake but also because of the great location in Astorga. The employees are always friendly and their service always impeccable. The gratis biscuits melt in your mouth. Great neighbourhood cafe.
Being an avid coffee drinker and wanting my coffee just right Urbania Cafe gets close to the mark. Lovely little place, nice and quiet. Service is lovely. Good coffee and a fresh muffin starts the day off well.
