An absolutely good German restaurant. Eat as my mom once did. During my visit, I had the Roulade. It was delicate and very tasteful. With this I had the potato dumplings, red cabbage and side orders from Sauerkraut and hot German potato salad. They were all very, very good. My wife had the sour roast and carved about it. She had the house salad with her meal. It was like me in my childhood. It had salad, cucumbers, potato, onion and a very good dressing on it. I had the Hungarian goulash soup with my meal and enjoyed it very much. The light rye bread they serve went perfectly with the meal. We finished with the Bavarian apple strudel with whipped cream. I followed the recommendations and had a great meal. Don't miss the Hungarian goulash soup with chunks of tender roast beef in a spicy broth. The veal was as tender as anything I've had. Don't don't leave without having the apple streusel, even if you have to carry it home in a bag after such a full meal. The streusel is more like apple pastry than apple pie and can't be neglected. I think they take reservations here. It's a good idea to try to make one since the place was packed when I arrived 10 minutes after the doors opened on a Saturday night.
One of the better German places in the city, its authentic but a little down. Service is good, but this place is not as good as I am back in Cincinnati where they have tons of great German delis and restaurants. I have eaten in four other German places since then, altogether when your German food in Colorado Springs I propose to go here.
Real German food in the city... After friends come from Germany and stay in Springs.... They give Uwe the German Duetsch seal of approval... From beer to REAL German Server....... Salad... Schnitzel.... Also the Weekly Special....Rouladen is excellent!!! Wonder Bar.... Super....
Fabulous food at very reasonable prices. I almost didn't try to eat here for lunch because the prices were so cheap. I'm glad I did. Very authentic German food that tasted super. The part was definitely dinner size and much more than I usually eat for lunch.
Generally good. Pretty good overall, great veal cordon Bleu. Frozen mixed veggies for a $20 meal was odd. Good beer. Good service. German sides are just weird, certainly not the restaurants issue.
