Book a reservation at 8 pm for a Valentine's Day dinner. This was my first experience to eat in this upscale Italian restaurant. Usually I would write a long and eloquent review of places I visit. However, I have my expectations with the knowledge that it is highest hour on this Valentine's Day evening. The atmosphere is warm and stylish. Needless to say, our reservation time has not been honored. After 40 minutes waiting and a trip to the hostess, we finally made it to our table at 8:45. The bartender, made a delicious martini and they even had filled blue cheese olives. A word of advice, perhaps the management should consider this fine liberation to serve with a spear. For instance, I ordered an endive and arugula salad, and it was mostly endive—about 95%—with just a sprinkle of arugula wrapped around a cucumber coral. What’s that about? They claimed the coconut sorbet was homemade, and while it was delicious, it didn’t taste like it was made in-house; the consistency and texture were just too perfect. With the high prices, lackluster energy, and subpar food, there are plenty of other options in Greenwich that offer more affordable prices and much better food, along with servers who actually make you feel welcome.
