This restaurant has so much to commend it ....but also so much it can do better . The food ...once we got it ....was nice ....but come on ...over an hour after we placed the order ...before anything actually arrived ........you can do better than this ,... we know fresh cooked steaks and fish don't arrive within 15 mins..... you don't need to sound off to other diners at other tables .....-we don't expect that to be the case ....tell us if you are experiencing delays .....but well over an hour after putting in the order .... ....come on guys -you are better than this .
We returned to this restaurant after a four year absence due to Covid. I am happy to say the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff has not changed. It was as busy as before so we had to pre book our table for 7pm.Although they no longer do the Tourist menu in October (this now runs from November to June) the prices were very reasonable and good value considering the portion size.Service was excellent.
This proved to be our favourite restaurant during our stay in Monte Gordo. Plenty of fresh fish, cooked in the Portuguese style (although there are lots of meat dishes on the menu too). All served by most pleasant staff and the multi-lingual owner, David. I'm missing the place already!

Beautiful food. We went to celebrate a birthday and it really was very special. Could only manage two courses as their portion sizes are very generous. Well worth a visit!
We had the tourist menu 11 euros for 3 courses and a drink fantastic value for money and great choices the food was fantastic especially the dessert well worth a try
Delicious fish, unpretentious surroundings, friendly amiable staff, favourite meal in Montegordo. 17.50 for 3 courses, bread and a glass of wine. What a find!
