The food here is delicious. Reservations are definitely recommended. It is a very busy place. Most restaurants just have 1-2 vegetarian dishes, so I was pleasantly surprised that they had an entire vegetarian tasting menu. That is so rare to find. The 6 course tasting takes about a couple hours and the dishes are very inventive. The service is pretty good as well. The experience could be so much better if there was a vegetarian protein source and the portion sizes were larger to better match the price of the tasting menu. Incredible! Here we go again on a journey of new experiences. Tonight was Vida. It started of with the maitre d coming and welcoming us to Vida. Then the waiter was exceptionally knowledgeable about the different course ingredients and phenomenal knowledge about all the different types of drinks. I truly was impressed with his knowledge. We were seated at the front corner table which gave us an unobstructed view. The courses come either in one at a time in a set of four or a set of six. We chose four. My wife and I chose to eat at Vida to celebrate our anniversary. We were very impressed with every part of our experience at Vida. We used to live in Chicago so our expectations are relative to the Chicago dining scene. We ordered the chef’s tasting menu with wine paired for each course. We like wine but we didn’t feel like thinking and making choices. Each course was beautifully plated and well described by our server. I read countless reviews about this being the best restaurant in Indy right now, and this being the best food they’d ever had. It was hard to believe that it could be that good. It was. It’s unbelievable how flavorful and well thought out each dish was. At the risk of being dramatic, this was possibly the best food I’ve had in my life. Had a great time meeting a long time friend there for my birthday. Tim, our server, was knowledgeable, and easy going. The food was amazing to say the least. If you're willing to try the foie gras, the husk cherries are divine. In general the staff are extremely personable, and honestly, Vida would be my first suggestion for anyone looking for a nice restaurant downtown. Celebrated an anniversary here and it was also my first time dining here. The detail was amazing and the service was impeccable. The cauliflower dish was so delicious and the desserts were amazing. We really enjoyed our meal and experience at Vida. Alex our server really was one of the best representations of a restaurant we have had the pleasure to be waited on by in a long while.
