On a tuesday night my wife and i and my 2yo daughter came for a meal. I was impressed by the layout and the feel of the outside garden; it really seems a very pleasant spot to enjoy a meal on a warm summer evening. There was light rain and so were told we couldn't eat outside (although it appeared to be protected) The feel of the place is good, nothing special . The decor is simple and overall there is a nice balance of brightness and intimacy. The menu intro is very cute. Photo attached. we were looking forward to a return visit, the owners had transformed a dingy Indian into a bright plant filled are but this sadly is looking very uncared for a few straggly palms and one flowering plant in a plant pot on an outside table. We were greeted by the staff who were polite and attentive, drinks arrived quickly.We ordered Tom Yum, a green Chicken curry and Panang seafood. The Tom Yum was chilly hot just right and very flavorsome the two prawns in it were overcooked however. The green chicken curry was quite nice but not a flavour sensation. Located in an old house on busy Brighton Road, if you walk in the gated front entry, you are transported to a small corner of south east Asia. The gated front part of the property is serene and surprisingly quiet, given the noise from the adjoining Brighton Road. The staff are very warm and welcoming, knowledgeable about the food and the great wine and beer offerings. The food captures the best of Thai and Laotian food - the Thai curries are rich and homely, the stir fries are fresh and rich. This restaurant is one of our favourite local establishments.We love the BBQ Pork, Garlic Seafood, Pad Thai, Thai Fried Rice, Chicken Green Curry...I think I know the menu off by heart, it's all so good!!The food is always tasty and fresh, whether we eat in the restaurant or take away and the waitresses are very helpful!!The outdoor decor is quirky, not sure where they picked up all those dining suites, but the indoor decor is quite conventional and pleasant.
What a lovely restaurant, nice and quiet the, entrée was nice but not amazing, but the mains were to die for very tasty. I had the Deep Fried Barramundi and my partner had the Pad Thai Chicken, the flavours dancing around in our mouths afterward was amazing. Service was great even though they only had 2 (two) people serving. Would highly recommend and we'll be definitely going again.
Yum! Very efficient service and friendly staff. We arrived at Vientiane tired and hungry, and were after a quick meal. Within five minutes of ordering, our entree had arrived. Within ten minutes, our mains had arrived. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. We will definitely be going back again - also, a great place to order takeaway.
