Stopped going here as it was just too inconsistent but tried again at the weekend and it was excellent. Tonight got generous portions and all dishes were tasty. When it is good this place is the best takeaway in Brentwood. The lamb dosa starter is superb- shredded lamb with potatoes spiced and in a pancake. Was my go to for Indian take away for years but sometimes it was really good and other times portions were only half filled and lacked taste. When they remember you get free popodums but they often forget which is a nuisance as you expect to get them so don't order and are then disappointed. karma sutra is usually very good but be warned it's very hot too. Gurkhas revenge is usually tasty...
I ordered prawn tikka masala, vegetable and paneer byriani and cauliflower bhaji. They prepared king prawn which I realised from the price, The prawns were inedible the sauce was so sweet it was also inedible The bhaji was soggy and bland. The Byriani had no vivible paneer when I called The Village they said there were abot 7 pieces .. they must have been so small I missed them, Will not be returning.
We are regulars for many, many years for a takeaway from the Village. This last time I'm afraid will be the last.The food and service have deteriorated beyond recognition. The food take 1.30 hours to arrive and on arrival it was greasy, burnt and unappetising. We always considered this food to be excellent however not anymore.
Take nothing away from the food which is absolutely amazing however the last 3 orders me and my partner have made it seems something is always left off the order don't get me wrong this is replaced on the next order but sometimes it would be nice to have our order fulfilled straight away. Being a real Indian food fan, this has to be the best takeaway Indian in Brentwood. I have sampled pretty much all the Indian takeaways and for me Village is spot on. Delivery times can sometimes be long on a Fri or Sat night but this is only due to the demand, I always collect.
I have eaten from the village several times and the food is always amazing! I love that you can see the food being cooked whilst you wait and its always delicious! Great service and friendly staff and chefs! Would recommend to anyone!
Every time we fancy an Indian we always come back to the village, very friendly staff, great service and the food well the food is incredible, I have tried many dishes and they never fail to please me

Tired of the local Shenfield curry scene with lacklustre food, some of which all tastes the same no matter the dish, somewhat intrepidly I knew our Indian Takeaway game just had to be upped.
