Honestly, I don’t think Village Inn needs any more praise. It has stood the test of time and flavor. At 70 years old, I feel like I’ve been coming here since my days as a tipsy college student late at night. On my recent visit, I rediscovered the French Toast, which was a tough choice with so many other delicious options on the menu. It took some willpower to resist the biscuits and gravy that were beckoning me—only a place like Village Inn could offer such an enticing selection.
Village Inn is a must-visit when in Kansas City. The breakfast is delicious, especially the pancakes. My granddaughter really enjoyed the blueberry pancakes, while my daughter loved the pumpkin spice cakes. The bacon was crispy, and the eggs were cooked just as we ordered. My pescatarian daughter was pleased to find a veggie skillet that she could customize to her liking. The coffee was great too. The only downside was the noticeable increase in prices, with nothing under $10.
I had an outstanding breakfast here. It wasn’t anything extravagant, but that was perfectly fine. I ordered the California skillet, and it was just what I needed. My husband chose a classic breakfast with eggs, three types of meat, and pancakes, and we were both very satisfied with our selections. The only aspect that could use some improvement is the coffee, which was a bit weak. Other than that, everything was delicious!
I was seated immediately, which was unexpected for a Saturday morning, and the service was outstanding. Forgot you were here. Haven't been in the area in yrs.Hidden gem of a restaurant. The best food and service by far. Much better than most of the big franchises. Hope you can stay around !
We went after lunch rush, food was excellent. Atmosphere was calm which was great for my kid. We could have a conversation because we could hear each other. Waitress was great
