Had a hankering for East Indian food and was in Winnipeg. Not knowing where to go i looked online and saw Vinnies Hot Foods. The reviews were positive and the menu had items such as puttu and dosa that i have never tried. Made the decision to go and was not disappointed! It was a wonderful experience. We ordered biryani, puttu, and fish molee. The owner put on some hindu music and started cooking in her open kitchen it just added to the experience. As the food cooked the more hungry we got. This is a take out establishment with menus online. Tried visiting this place a few times but it was not open. It was overgrown with weeds on the walkway. If it was closed for holidays, that should have been posted.The day I finally got an answer to my call, I ordered a shrimp and a veggie biriyani. Both were excellent. The pepper chicken livers were my favourite, but I didn't care for the chicken curry puttu (too dry). Our family gave the meal mixed reviews from excellent to never again, which made it 3/5. I'll definitely give it another try.
If u really miss the south Indian real taste, This is the place to be at! Such a great little family owned business and very humble guys. Really appreciate the idea of calling in for the take out that u love doesn't matter if it's on menu or not. Enjoyed the visit. Must come place for some real home made recipes.

A simple and humble place with great food. Tried their chicken biryani and loved it. The place is run by a couple who are very nice to deal with. The lady was very enthused about their idlee and dosa offereings so we plan on trying that next.
Food is amazing and the prices are even better! I recommend the biriyani for sure, it is authentic and traditional food just like you would find in India. I will definitely be eating here often!
Amazing friendly owner. Great vibe to the place. Food is made from scratch right in front of you. Great authentic taste as well. It’s definitely not just another Indian food joint. Try it out.
great eating at a reasonable price. very tasty. the chicken curry dish could have had more than 2 small chicken legs. very friendly.
