What a great experience, exceeded our expectations all around. This small restaurant has seating indoors, and in warmer weather on a patio adjacent to the water. We chose a third option, a 2 person 5 course chefs whim menu at a private chefs table, and what a treat! The dining room is very attractive and the restaurant prides themselves on a curated wine selection. They do offer spirits, but not mixed cocktails. The owner greeted and welcomed us, as did the chefs. The chefs warned us that although the menu said 5 courses, they get carried away and likely it would be more like 7. This has to be one of the most unique and romantic date nights we've experienced! Upon arrival, my husband and I were greeted with a personalized sign and seated right in the kitchen, where we were the only couple enjoying the tasting menu. The chef and staff were very friendly and we had a fantastic time chatting and learning about the food, the restaurant, and the area. The food itself was absolutely amazing. The dishes were creative, beautiful, and incredibly delicious. My favorite was the "godfather" served on a small waffle - a combination that may sound unusual but was surprisingly flavorful. What an amazing experience! Since moving here, we have tried many restaurants in New Hampshire and New England, but this one stands out. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special. Tony, the owner, greeted us warmly, and our waitress was incredibly attentive. And then there was Paul, the chef! He was delightful to talk to, and the five courses he and his sous chef prepared for us were absolutely delightful. The wine selection was also top-notch. Having a restaurant like this just minutes from our home feels like a dream come true. This will definitely be our new go-to spot for date night! Highly recommended.
Vino e Vivo was excellent. They fit us in for an early dinner seating and we had a fabulous time. Service was excellent, tasty wine and the food was amazing. My husband had a mushroom soup he said was outstanding with a surprising taste of cherries. I had the salmon and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. The dessert was the best chocolate torte we have ever had. Nutella powder and a special fruit compote.and homemade basil ice cream. You have to try the food here. Chef Patrick is super talented. He even came out to visit our table and say, Hi!

The appetizers were filled with surprises--spiked grapes in the spears of endive, a beignet cooked in duck fat, with one sliver of duck to provide protein. The demi-glace on the steak is cooked for 48 hours and transforms the hangar steak into a dish for a king. Best of all were the wines. The house is determined to provide the wine that you find to your liking and is generous with tastes. I thanked the dishwasher who polished all those generously proffered glasses.
Fantastic! 4.5 stars. We had been contemplating this restaurant for a while. A few weeks ago, we braved the bitter cold and went to the ground floor to peruse the menu. Chef Paul greeted us at the door, invited us in, and gave us a tour of the restaurant. His passion was contagious. We thoroughly enjoyed the recommended dishes and wines. We are eager to return and are excited about the possibility of dining at the kitchen table. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
One of our new favs in Exeter, and quite honestly for the East coast of NH. AMAZING wine bar where the owner hangs out every night and offers an incredible selection of wines that are unique and enjoyable. The chef is a master dinner is an experience you can’t miss. If you are in the area, definitely stop by this local gem. You will not be disappointed!!
