Well all I can say is the people giving this place a good rating got drawn in by the smokescreen. I found the guy very pretentious making statements about how coffee should be made(in his opinion) I have friends who are baristas in top cafes in Melb that would laugh at this guy. I ordered 3 coffees and the were 2 people waiting for the coffees they had ordered in before. 30 minutes later the last of our coffees came out and each 1 around 5 minutes apart because you can't make good coffee more than 1 at a time. I'll admit I came in out of sheer curiosity after a friend tried the 'Adelaide A** Kicker' coffee and recommended it (I like my coffee strong). I ordered a regular flat white and saved the a** kicker for later. This would have been 'up there' with some of the best coffee I've tried, well balanced and perfect temperature (so sick of so many venues overheating their coffee!). As for the 'Adelaide A** Kicker', after running through a few questions with me about whether I was on any medications (no) or had heart problems (no again) I took this home to enjoy later. It too was delicious and I found that its main effect (no raised heart rate or any other unpleasantness) was that I felt super-alert...
Friendly service - good if there's no one else in the shop as you will only have to wait a few minutes for your coffee. If you're in a rush and there's a few people in the shop, you could be waiting up to 10,15 minutes. Owner definitely knows how to make a good brew however not the best coffee I've ever had but definitely the place to go if you're in Christies beach and after a decent coffee. Other than coffee, the store offers a small variety of sweet treats. There are cheesecakes, cookies, choc brownies etc - all delicious.

It's been open at least seventeen months, but it took an article in The Advertiser to alert me to this place. Service, okay slowish. But the owner knows his coffee. We had the coffee-rich Asskicker which came with a "health warning" concerning heart conditions, high blood pressure and advice to drink it slowly.Theatre or not, this coffee is for serious coffee drinkers and not those who think the pinnacle of iced coffee comes in a carton.
I tried the small @$$ kicker, not sure on it though...didnt really feel that almight buzz probably because i got the small, but it did absolutely destroy my stomach!!! The operator was friendly enough, spoke to customers and had some charisma. I always rate a place on, would i go back, this one im undecided on.
I've had coffee here a couple of times (I don't get out much) with my wife and with a business associate. Excellent coffee. Knowledgeable host and comfortable surrounds. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a serious coffee experience
You used to have to queue up outside his door. Went downhill after he changed his recepie and he said he changed supplier
