Standing in the queue, holding shopping in my arms, waiting for the belt to move…. But the belt doesn’t move because the checkout operator and customer can’t swipe the purchases and chat at the same time. Eventually, the purchases have been totalled-up, so they spend AGES messing about with a mobile phone, with no regard to the customers who are waiting. In the meantime, other customers have been through other checkouts and are now in the car-park. They were probably too engrossed in chatting to notice that I left around £90 worth of shopping on the conveyor belt and left the shop. Commercial Failure: Run a store, pay for advertising, customers select purchases but are unable to pay for them...
I love visiting this supermarket on a regular basis.You can tell as soon as you walk into the store how brightly coloured all the fruit veg are.They have a great selection and it’s very well sourced and high quality.The meats and dairy are sourced from ethical farms and the animals have been fed a healthy diet.They have a great selection of plant based products, I love the Method and Ecover brands as I try to do my bit for the environment.The store is always clean and fresh, the staff are great too, I’m just glad that I can afford to shop here.I swear by the Waitrose own brands which are reasonably priced.Please don’t ever close this store down like the legendary branch in Blaby or I’ll be s...
I hadn't visited Waitrose in about four weeks, and I was shocked to find that almost all the checkout lines had been replaced with self-service kiosks, leaving only three traditional registers. I don’t prefer self-service when I have a full cart. One of the things I loved about Waitrose was the friendly interaction with the cashiers, and now that's gone! I even asked if one of the remaining checkout lines could be opened, and it was—but not quickly! I believe this is a significant step backward for the store. It feels more like a Tesco Express than a Waitrose. If this is the direction they’re headed, they should lower their prices by 30%. I was really disappointed!
On Saturday, July 30, I made a last-minute trip to Waitrose with my two-year-old son, who is usually a well-behaved little angel but was not on this occasion. He decided to throw a complete tantrum in the store and wouldn’t stop crying. I tried everything I could think of to calm my passionate toddler, but nothing worked. Finally, a staff member approached me and offered her assistance. She quickly diffused the situation by giving my son a Paw Patrol chocolate lollipop. Obviously I took to long trying to decide which bottle of whiskey I wanted, which must have caught the interest of the security guard because I could see him out the corner of my eye peeking from behind some cases of beer.
Today which is 29/11 there was no 4 PT skimmed milk .. couldn't find any frozen fishcakes...cod or haddock, so whether they have been delisted not sure... parking though was excellent and trolleys plentiful
The staff was very accommodating, especially since I have a bad hip. Even other customers helped me by bringing my car back to me.

The staff are great, but the choice and availability of goods (particularly meat) has gone downhill over the years.
