I had high expectations for Wake and Cate. The welcome was friendly and inside was clean and pleasant. We ordered two teas, a cappuccino, a mocha and an Oreo milkshake which were all great. We also ordered a chocolate éclair, a lemon cake and a millefeuille cake. They all looked great but didn't live up to expectations. The éclair had a rich chocolate cream inside which was different, the lemon cake was a dense cake that was saturated with sugar syrup but didn't actually taste of lemon and the millefeuille was okay but was basically just a mass of pastry and cream. It was quite expensive too.
Popped in today with my wife two young girls. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the cafe was nice and bright and comfortable. The options cake wise was amazing and every single one that we had looked and tasted incredible. The photos on the website don't do it justice. You can really tell that someone has really put a lot of passion and care into every one of them. The coffee was good and the prices reasonable, really cannot fault the place! Well recommended.
Came to Liverpool with my friend for the weekend. Came for breakfast here. I had the sausage patty melt and she had the bacon muffin. Both were absolutely amazing! To the point whereby we will recreate it at home. Staff were amazing. Okay, originally thought it was a bit pricey, however you certainly get what you pay for in both quality and portion size. This is a wonderful place. Thank goodness for quality, independently-run places like this in big city centres. The coffee was lovely and we visited twice: once for cooked breakfasts (delicious and non-greasy) and once for a coffee and a bun (very tasty). Skip Costa and Nero and go here instead. You’ll come back!

Awful coffee, Awful food. We ordered fredo espresso and americano, which is quite basic. Coffee was burnt and disgusting, they charged us £14 for 4 cups of coffee, the least they could do was to serve something decent. On top of that the PLASTIC cups were broken!!! Avoid at any cost.
We went to this restaurant for breakfast. My husband ordered the full English breakfast, which was delicious, and I had jam on toast. The staff were very friendly and the cakes we bought to take home were the best we've had in a long time. We definitely plan on coming back!
Nice but I expected better tbh. Seen lots of info on pancakes which is the reason we went but they don’t do them now. Instead the make French toast which was very nice. Croissant came just plain not butter or any extras. Scramble elf eggs were also nice.

Excellent independent cafe run by a lovely family. The food is freshly prepared and cooked and tastes delicious. The cakes are to die for and the coffee also delicious.
Best cafe in Liverpool! Spotless and cosy. Friendly staff and delicious food.
