My daughter made a reservation for father's day brunch and was advised that it is basically the same brunch as in the main hotel. Well, what a surprise, it was way short of what she was told. When we arrived we ordered coffee and orange juice, the coffee was barely warm and the orange juice turned out to be apple juice. The waitress told us it all looked the same, granted the apple juice was darker than the clear apple juice. The coffee refill was only lukewarm, not hot. Two visits to this restaurant in our three days in Banff, and we were impressed. Great food, especially the smashed avocado and the fish and chips. The cheeseburger was good too. The kids were well catered-for, and the servers were especially good and patient - we were particularly impressed with Becca. Where they let themselves down a little was in the actual service - the meals arrived at slightly different times, and my request for cheeseburger without the bacon was overlooked - when I pointed this out, clearly all that happened was that they took the bacon off - an offer of a fresh burger might have been nice. If you are hungry this is the place for you. There is a limited variety but it does include starters, entrees and dessert. The meals are all huge. Be prepared to share or just order one course. They do have a limited alcohol menu. The price of a starter is about $15, mains or entrees as the call them in Canada begin at about $20 and desserts are around $14.The meals are ok but nothing to write home about. They certainly are filling. Expect to pay $14 for a sparkling wine.They do cater for vegetarians as there are nachos and vegetarian chilli as well as avatar do smash and salads to choose from.
I visited Stanley's Smokehouse for my birthday meal, but we were a little disappointed. The restaurant is very large and could do with some updating. This meant there wasn't much atmosphere. The food was ok but nothing special. We felt the drinks menu was quite limited, with not many cocktails on offer. My family are fans of the Fairmont and have had excellent experiences at all their other restaurants at the Banff Springs, but felt this place wasn't really up to their usual high standards. Despite this, the service was good and the view is stunning.

If you are looking for a delicious meal on a golf course in the mountains, look no further!! The club house is surrounded by 360 windows where you can view mountains and elk. We had the sliced brisket, ribs and corn bread. The brisket was great and so tender... the ribs were cooked perfectly and were a great portion!! The service was outstanding and the manager Chris came by our table to chat as well. Highly recommend this restaurant!!
We had dinner at Stanley's Smokehouse on 31st May, whilst staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs. It was the best BBQ meal that we have had since Houston, Texas many years ago. For those who like BBQ we would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, with its excellent chef, John Koolhof. The portions are very generous!!! Our waitress, Chloe, was also excellent. Jim
Dinner with my Rose and 6 other friends. The staff was very accommodating and gave us a table where we could watch the golfers come up No. 9.The variety of food for a golf course and the quality was outstanding. The service was great.It was nice that the Banff Fairmont Springs Hotel provided free transportation both ways #guidedbycollette
