Although we have visited this area previously we had never noticed this eatery before and having walked round the shops for over a couple of hours we were starving . It has a TARDIS like structure and was certainly a lot bigger than it appeared once you are inside , the staff member was extremely friendly and even though it was busy managed to find us a table . The menu was rather extensive so definitely something for everyone if you’re simply after a snack or something more substantial. We both opted for sandwiches, a cheese tomato toastie and a mature cheese with chutney . Our drinks were brought out very swiftly and it’s nice to come across somewhere that serves a good tasty hot chocolate...
I was looking for a lunch spot and came across this restaurant just off the main pedestrian shopping area. We were seated promptly by a friendly waitress. The menu was diverse and they even offered breakfast options all day, which my husband was thrilled about. He ordered the 'full English' breakfast with toast, while I chose the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Both meals were delicious and filling, with my dish being particularly satisfying with a generous portion of smoked salmon. They also offer afternoon tea with a selection of cakes. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were very efficient.
Called in for lunch and ordered a sandwich with fries. My partner ordered ham, egg and chips. The grated cheese sandwich was presented in four triangle shaped pieces that were so small that it was impossible to eat without all the filling falling out. The waitress forgot to order the chips and they arrived after I’d finished the sandwich. My partners ham had an unacceptable amount of fat on it which she had to cut off. Not impressed and wouldn’t recommend.
We always head straight for this fantastic coffee shop. Tucked just off the main shopping street, it's always bustling with locals and visitors like us. One great feature is their breakfast menu, where each item is priced individually so you can customize your order. The staff is welcoming, and we consistently enjoy the food and service. We use the Walnut Grove when ever we are in Dorchester, we have found the food to be excellent, the staff can not do enough for you and it's dog friendly. The home made cakes are very naughty!!!
This restaurant is a charming hidden gem located just off the main road in Dorchester. They offer a fantastic variety of breakfast and lunch options, as well as an exciting specials board.
Great find and reasonably priced highly recommended. Working locally and stumbled across little gem whilst on route to Greg’s have eaten their most days. Staff really friendly.
