This is undoubtedly one of the top Japanese restaurants in Greenpoint. The buns and gyoza are excellent, while the karaage is juicy and crispy, cooked just right. The ramen is incredibly flavorful, and their yuzu soda is exceptional. The ambiance is beautiful and intimate, and the service is top-notch. However, you really need to address the door situation. Can’t you just keep the second door— the one that opens onto the sidewalk— closed? It’s quite bothersome to have cold air blowing on your back every time someone enters the restaurant, especially in the winter.
I ordered the tsukemen because it's not something you see very often, and I absolutely love it. Overall, I thought it was good—the egg was fantastic and well-seasoned. The pork belly was tasty, and I really enjoyed the chicken I added! However, the soup didn't quite impress me; the seasonings were stronger than the broth itself. I was also expecting the soup to be thicker to better accompany the noodles. I would definitely like to return and try some of the other dishes next time!
I came here for the first time with a pickup order. The pickup was 10 minutes faster than quoted on grubhub and it was DELICIOUS. I would highly recommend it. I got the seafood ceviche ramen that time. I went back again recently for dine in and really enjoyed my time there. The service was fast and polite. I got their beef ramen and my friend got their signature ramen, both were delicious. The appetizers are a good size and I would recommend swinging by here.
If I could have 3 items to eat for the last meal of my life, Wanpaku's Vegetarian Miso Ramen would be one of my choices. Drizzle a bit of spicy chili oil and slurp it all up at one of the booths outside. Not sure I'll ever emotionally recover from not living in Brooklyn because of this eatery alone, seriously. What a wonderful little gem we discovered! From the moment we entered, everything felt just right—warm and friendly service, quick arrival of appetizers and drinks, an excellent cocktail, a rich and flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, a well-marinated egg, and decor that complemented the experience beautifully. We will definitely be returning to try their curry and other appetizers!
I highly recommend the cold noodles for summer, especially for those who enjoy a delicious bowl of ramen but find it hard to handle a heavy bowl of hot soup in the warmer months. The Tsukemen noodles are a bit saltier than we prefer, but they might be a great option if you like saltier broths. It's also a family-friendly place, suitable for groups of up to six people.
How do you say “delicious” in Japanese? I’m guessing it is “wanpaku”, because this was a wonderful meal. They have a happy hour until 7pm, which is okay, but their regular menu isn’t very expensive so good to come adhere whenever. I had the pork gyoza and a pork based ramen. Come here. It’s great.
Excellent night out here. Restaurant is fairly small but doesn't feel cramped. Prices are fair, and the sake selection is excellent. Nice happy hour too. All our food was top notch, and the staff made the night an easy experience. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
A good Japanese restaurant in the area. We had to wait a little when we arrived, but it wasn't too long. The pumpkin appetizer was fantastic, and the main dishes were impressive too. I will definitely return for lunch! Food: 5/5
