It is easy to miss this excellent Tea Room as you drive along the A6033 between Littleborough and Todmorden. From the outside it is hard to tell that it is a café/tea room, the only indications being some relatively low key signage at the car park entrance and on the approach in either direction. My wife and I had driven past it often and thought that we must try it sometime. That sometime came about when several weeks ago we were passing at lunchtime and we decided to stop. The car park is unsurfaced but adequate and once inside we were iimpressed by the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I went to this restaurant last week for breakfast and was greeted by a rude woman who immediately told me to put on a mask without saying please. I was then instructed to use hand sanitizer, but was accused of breaking it when it didn't work. I was then seated at a table only 4 feet from the door. When the food finally arrived, I wish we hadn't bothered – the handle fell off the teapot while pouring tea, and the food was overcooked and cold. The service staff had terrible manners, perhaps because we were working men. Additionally, the prices were exorbitant at £7.50 for a basic breakfast that didn't even include a pot of tea or coffee.
Called in after a 10 mile hike in the surrounding area. Although not close to closing time they had stopped serving food and just coffee and cake was on offer. Shame as I was dying for a decent sandwich!! The welcome was friendly and was offered to sit inside or out. We never got handed a menu for drinks and they never did iced coffee which was a shame as it was a hot day that's what I fancied. Service was prompt. Tables outside nice rattan furniture. As no menu was offered, we ordered a pot of tea and Americano and picked cakes from the counter. Not sure of the price as my friend kindly paid!!
I called on Saturday morning for coffee and a toasted bagel with fruit. The staff was very pleasant and the coffee was excellent. The only downside was that from the outside, it looked like a construction yard behind the restaurant. However, this area is screened off from the inside. You also have the option to dine outside if the weather is nice, and it is safe for children in the rear outdoor area. Despite the views being obstructed by the yard, I still rate them four stars. I had afternoon tea at this restaurant, which we had preordered. The food was delightful and well presented. There was a good selection of sandwiches, pork pies, and quiche. The meringue was the best I've ever had, and the bite-sized scones were also delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was great value for money. Don't let the outside of the building deter you - inside, it is a hidden gem!
Just got back from having lunch for my mothers' 86th birthday. The staff were so nice and couldn't do enough for you. The food was excellent, freshly prepared and a wide choice available. The cakes were a delight and the choices suited everyone. What a lovely tea room in great surroundings with excellent food and staff. Would definitely recommend.
Found this little cafe by accident, called in and was amazed.....from the outside, not very appealing, inside WOW...beautiful, food great Homemade Cakes, Lovely Friendly Staff, and a great pot of Yorkshire Tea what more do you need....booking afternoon tea (restrictions allowing) for this weekend with my Daughter In Laws as a treat to them.
Lovely little place just off the main road. Afternoon tea was amazing. More food than you can eat but you can have a doggie bag. Lovely fresh sandwiches, home made cakes and scones with jam and cream. Plus a glass of Prosecco if you like £4. Also lots of fresh cakes for sale or eat in. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Food average, staff pleasant enough but just as we finished lunch we were told they were closing early. This is now the third time this has happened so won't be going back!
