The restaurant itself boasts a beautiful atmosphere, warm welcoming staff, and a breathtaking view back to the mainland. The menu may be concise, but the food is excellent and beautifully presented, with vegetarian and various seafood options available. We were fortunate to dine indoors, and with the lovely weather, the doors were wide open, allowing us to take in the stunning views of Oban Harbour and its bustling activity. The friendly staff even kindly reminded us about half an hour before the last ferry back to the mainland, which offered a picturesque sunset to cap off the evening. This venue is perfect for a simple yet beautiful evening out.
We had a wonderful little boat trip to the island of Kerrera for lunch at the Waypoint Restaurant Bar, followed by a fantastic hike on the island. The service was impeccable and very helpful; they provided us with a hiking map that was actually quite useful. The fish and chips were delicious, and we enjoyed a lovely view of the marina. The restrooms were nice, and there were also showers available. Definitely a hidden gem that we would recommend!
I really wish I had made a picture of the food. sad I got caught up with the dog captivating and hungry -demolated the eating as soon as the plate touched the table. good quality eating and friendly service from all staff. we had the bark breeze a bottle of red and shared a desert. good portion size/price/quality. delilah the dog is a happy thing to live on this beautiful island wishing a friendly and efficient people.
very beautiful restaurant with beautiful landscape of the oban harbour. excellent Scottish foods and drinks for cheap trips. friendly and informative staff. it is so relaxing to have a lunch on the outside table. in 2015, when you visit this restaurant for good kitchen, you can take the ferry of oban free here. Great little trip across the bay, would highly recommend the whole experience. The ferry runs every hour until late and the owners are very kind and helpful. Food is also particularly good, and a beautiful view of Oban in the evenings.
Had the best afternoon visiting Waypoint Restaurant, it was such a fabulous experience. Our lovely waitress went above and beyond considering it was super busy. So looking forward to going back, it's a wee hidden treasure. Veronica xxx
The food here is outstanding—a hidden gem that's just a 10-minute boat ride from Oban. The atmosphere is laid-back, and we will certainly return. If you're in Oban and seeking something unique, this place is definitely worth a visit.
