Checked this place out with one of my friends after a tiring day exploring the city and getting rained on lots. Super lovely and laidback yet also really attentive staff. Really appreciated the dedicated vegan menu as it makes it much easier to look through wished the main ingredients were listed on the menu, as some dish titles were a little vague and I wasn't sure what to order! Though I asked one of the waiters and he was really helpful and could list off the bat what was in the dishes, so it wasn't too much trouble. I ended up ordering the vegan Wee Buddha curry. The portion sizes were massive and that alone justified the price point in my opinion, it took me like over an hour to finish...
We waited two years to get into this restaurant but only because our visits to Edinburgh usually coincide with the staff holidays! This year we struck lucky and got a booking for 6pm on a Friday evening. The options given to us were 6pm or 7.45pm, so the restaurant seems to run a 2 sittings per evening policy, but maybe not because we saw customers going in at 5pm when we were on our way to a local pub for pre dinner drinks. On arrival on the dot of 6pm, we were ushered upstairs (didn't notice if it was full downstairs) and seated at the window but on top of a table already occupied by 4 people and the rest of the seating space absolutely vacant! We came here tonight on a recommendation, and we were so glad we did. The restaurant was tucked away, small and perfectly formed, the service was pleasant and efficient, but most of all the food was exemplary. We had the loaded chips and chilli ribs to stat and they were delicious with great flavours. Then for mains the chicken Buddha curry and a prawn Ka Pow all washed down with a few uniquely styled cocktails. We just about forced down ice cream for afters and left full and very happy. Well done to Ken for his great cooking and gem of a restaurant. See you next time
Wow what a lovely little find! We were hungry for some oriental food on Thursday night so decided to call the nearest place we could find and this was it. They squeezed us in for an early dinner. I had the wee Buddha curry and my bf had the monkfish Thai green curry. We ordered garlic squid and gyoza and cocktails. All was absolutely delicious, I can’t fault it. Our server, unsure if his name but had a nose piercing, and curly hair cut short on top. He was such a sweetie and made us feel so welcome, in fact all the staff did. Great place and would 100% recommend.

Booked this as the menu is great for vegetarians and had many choices for us. The restaurant itself is small but felt like they didn't try and fill it with as many people as possible which we appreciated, it meant that the vibe was nice and you could still talk and hear each other. The food was amazing, tasted fresh and well made. We ordered the veggie haggis wontons, pak choi and sriracha cauliflower as starters and then the Singapore noodles and black bean tofu. Everything was great, would love to come back.
The food at this restaurant was fantastic and the service was great. My companion and I ordered 6 items from the small plates menu, which was more than enough and allowed us to enjoy a variety of flavors. Our favorite dishes were the garlic chili chicken wings and the Singapore noodles with zucchini. Despite being a small restaurant, they didn't overcrowd the space with too many diners. We plan on returning in the future.
If you’re looking for a hideaway, a hangout, a zen place to dine, drink and disclose your days adventures, then this is your match. I’ve eaten in this place for over 20 years under 3 different owners but Ken and his team are the real deal. Casual dining at its best. You’ll also love the interior design touches by Ken’s better half too. It was lovely to be back.
We were introduced to Wee Buddha by some friends, and what a treat it was! We had a delicious meal in this absolute gem of a restaurant, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the main restaurant areas of Edinburgh, but still in very easy walking distance. We will certainly be back!

The Japanese noodles were delicious, however, the small portion of steamed pak choi with a teaspoon of oyster sauce was not worth its price of £5.50. The beer was also disappointing. Overall, I felt like I was cheated.
