I went on Saturday 8/24/2024 around 12:00 pm Staff was great, the park was pretty clean. The only thing I didn’t like was that I saw 2 boats and the people were feeding a small gator and that’s not good for the people who visit the park. I notified the lady on front, she asked me how far was this, and I told her that it was like a mile away from the kayak station, they say they couldn’t do anything. I think they should have surveillance every 30 minutes at least to avoid this. It was a great experience, but I didn’t like that. 9/17/24 on response to the Wekiva replied. I understand that is Impossible to have control over the entire river, but I was talking about less than a mile from the kay...
This place has changed a lot throughout the years. I planned a family trip coming from different parts of the state including overseas. My wife and I have a garden and grow veggies and fruits, we decided to bring some to gift to our family and we 're not allowed to bring inside because they edible . The situation was explained at the counter, the staff was not flexible or understanding. Extremely frustrating since I have been part of your customer base for the last two decades. I understand the reasoning, we consumed hundreds of dollars while on this site. I don 't think I will be bringing my family here anymore. Our first visit with family. This had to be the best experience ever. It was my first time kayaking, and I was so scared at the beginning, and by the end of our time, I was racing. This is so relaxing and dun. The park is so peaceful and beautiful. I needed this experience! There is so much to do and enjoy. I saw baby deers in the trails we walked. This place is very well taken care of. Nice and clean, places to eat and lots of fun! I definitely want to return and make a habit of kayaking. You must go and see for yourself what you are missing.
Was a really nice experience and place! The manager or owner (not sure) was super friendly from the beginning. We were nit able to swim due the high level of water, the staff apologized multiple times, it was not necessary, nature happens. Cheap and good beer and reasonable prices for food. I thought that waterboats and swimming there was allowed and two drunk guys were doing it. I was a little disappointed that no one of the staff said anything to them. We still had a great time. Rented a kayak and had a great time on the river. Went to the springs and did some swimming, really nice.
The river was up a bit due to all the rain, BUT! We saw manatees!!! Right under my paddleboard!!!
