Went last night, first day open since lockdown. A lot has changed and it'll take a while for things to get back to normal, but the folks at The West have done an incredible job. They've deep cleaned everything, there's hand sanitizer freely available, tables have been moved about to ensure social distancing and a one way system employed. They also ask 1 member of the party to complete a track and trace form which they keep for 21 days. It's table service only, each table has a red/green card which you flip when you'd like to order. In these times when a lot of people are anxious to go out we can do nothing but praise the efforts of the whole team at the West Riding. In difficult circumstances they have adapted the pub to give a relaxing and safe environment to enjoy a drink. Everything is clearly laid out and there are instructions on the tables. The table service is not only very efficient but more importantly very friendly. The West Riding offers a superb selection of perfectly kept real ales, that change on a regular basis, along with a food selection of drinks of keg. There is also a good selection of gins and other drinks to enjoy. Thanks for providing the chance to enjoy this West Yorkshire legend again.
A visit to The West Riding today has managed to allay many of my fears about socialising. There is a clear one way system, lots of sanitiser, bells in the outside seating areas to request more drinks via table service, and a consistent sign in policy. Staff are as cheerful, helpful and friendly as they have always been, and the beer garden has obviously benefited from a lack of human interference (except from their gardener). Extra seating has been added to help social distancing. I would recommend the pub to anyone feeling nervous about going out. The steps they have taken are excellent, and certainly gave me confidence.
This establishment is on platform two of Dewsbury Station and is served by trains from Northern and TransPennine Express. It consists of three rooms with a bar on the middle which offers a wide range of beers on hand pump. My friend and I tried 6 different ones and all were in good condition. The breweries were predominantly local including a favourite of mine, Timothy Taylors. The food on offer included pizza 's, burgers, paninis, sandwiches and similar and was of good quality and at a reasonable price. To the question Would we visit again? We have a date booked!

Went here for drinks with friends early evening. Place was busy it was bingo night! Every time we spoke we were told to be quiet as bingo was on! Fancy going to a pub and not being allowed to speak! We were being glared at by bar staff who were surly and rude when serving. The place was scruffy and some people were smoking weed in the smoking area. If you were studying sociology then this would be a great place to do research into the sorry state of society in 2023.
£8.95 for a breakfast consisting of two rashers of overly crispy bacon, one sausage, a small ramekin of microwaved beans, one egg, three cherry tomatoes, a slice of toast and half a round of fried bread. Total rip off hangs your heads in shame.
We love The West Riding in Dewsbury, easy to get by train as it is on the platform, good for real ale lovers like ourselves, they are also serve superb pizzas and Sunday lunches, also tea and coffee. Service and atmosphere is always spot on.
Just had a lovely Sunday lunch in West Riding choice of beef or ham with plenty of veg, yorkie, and cauliflower cheese extra gravy great choice of beers defo recommended but I'd booked because it gets busy

Excellent place to go for a drink or food situated on dewsbury train station Excellent service and drinks would highly recommend.
A great pub with good beer and atmosphere. Well with a stop off if you doing the ale trail. Staff are very polite and helpful.
