I ordered a sandwich for breakfast, but the corned beef wasn't available first thing in the morning. Instead, I opted for the Ruskie, which turned out to be quite good. It was a straightforward sandwich filled with sliced pickles (homemade, perhaps?) and a generous amount of egg. The sourness of the pickles, combined with the creaminess of the egg, posed a bit of a challenge for me, as my chewing skills and judgment had been compromised after indulging in tacos and hamburgers. On a positive note, the store is bright and clean, but keep in mind that they only accept cashless payments.
Excellent sandwiches, more meat than bread which is how it should be. Plenty of tasty meat!Quick and friendly service too.The only downside is that their “rye” bread is not really rye. It’s light colored and looks/ tastes more like whole wheat bread spongy American style, rather than authentic dark German or Russian rye bread. And the sandwich is called Russian, ironically. Taking off one star for that.Otherwise, highly recommended.
Lox and bagels were very good, I’m not fond of rye bread so they put it on bun. The pastrami was all right. I prefer Tom’s burgers pastrami that’s fried and on a French roll. I won’t discount that I am not a pastrami connoisseur so this is just from a layman‘s perspective.The atmosphere was very pleasant. I enjoyed sitting at the bar. I did have to go buy a beer somewhere else because they don’t serve alcohol.

The bagels are quite decent, but the lox is really too salty. I was disappointed to find that the cheese on the Big Poppa is American (processed) cheese instead of cheddar. It's yellow rather than the white shown in the photo, which takes away from the sandwich's appeal. Additionally, the cream cheese lacks flavor and is oddly bland.

Great place for a breakfast bagel inside of Grand Central Market. Quick service, quality food, and overall a cool atmosphere.
