I went to the Whey Pat with some friends for drinks. The bartender, Olivia, was friendly and talkative with our group. It was clear she loves interacting with people and made us all feel welcome. The atmosphere of the venue was cozy and comfortable, creating a great vibe. After enjoying some drinks, we decided to order food to fuel us for the night. We got pizzas and nachos to share, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the Whey Pat to anyone in St Andrews looking for a place with friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere, and delicious food and drinks.
The Whey Pat Tavern is the best pub in St. Andrews without a doubt. The service is excellent, the staff are very welcoming and the drinks are always of the best quality. The pint of Guinness I was served was served with such a good quality, of which I haven’t seen in St. Andrews before. Overall the Whey Pat deserves the recognition as the best pub in St. Andrews hands down.
Visited for a few drinks on Sunday afternoon. The pub was very busy due to football game Celtic v Rangers. I have to say the two staff never stopped, especially the woman who acknowledged everyone and apologised for any wait while serving another customer. To keep a busy bar running and serving food was a credit to the pub.
As 4 adults visiting from Canada the pub was okay. Only food choices were nachos or pizza but the drinks were decent. A band was setting up as we were leaning but they were instrumental only. Many of the patrons looked a little shady but were harmless. Definitely not an upscale pub but good for a few pints.

We love Whey Pat! It is like a second home for my friends and me. As students who will soon graduate, this place holds all our cherished memories and friendships. We will always be grateful for the experiences and hold them close to our hearts.
The whey pat is the social hub of st. andrews. The bar staff will always greet with you a big smile. They have a great selection of drinks and seasonal cocktails! If your looking for an authentic pub full of heart, this is the place for you.
My partner and i popped in for a drink and we recieved a really warm welcome from Keith. We found the pub to be cosy and a good atmosphere and Keith was very attentive. We would recomend this pub and we will be back.
I caught up with friends who were coincidentally were in the area too .My inlaws live in Crail and definitely coming back great ales nice and warm friendly staff .massive tvs brilliant. BACK ASAP welldone !!!

One of the best pubs in town. Staff are amazing and pints are well priced for this area of fife. Barry poured me the best pint of Guinness I’ve ever had in Scotland.
The food was surprisingly delicious, and the service from the staff was exceptionally kind and heartfelt. The pints were also quite good.
