Lovely classic gastropub, 15 minutes outside of Aberdeen in the charming small town of Balmedie. The ivy-trellised exterior was complemented by a warm, welcoming interior, with staff on hand who greeted us promptly and took us to our table. Servers were always friendly but not always attentive. We tried a few of the specials – baked Camembert to share, the Chef’s burger and cod with white wine sauce. The food was tasty, came out promptly and was overall very enjoyable. We also enjoyed Oasis on the speakers and the back garden which was host to two adorable goats.
Stopped in without a booking as we weren't sure our plans and I'd heard they were slow on business due to the road being closed nearby making access more difficult. Turns out they had a lot of bookings for the evening but managed to fit us in which was great. Food was really good. The two of us shared the seafood platter for starter which was really good and bigger than we expected and then i had the stone bass special which was amazing. First ever visit but will stop in again.
We had a lovely afternoon kicking off our Christmas week, and it truly felt like the most festive event we've had! I'm so pleased it was such a success. The hearty little cake was delightful, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the tables were well organized for safety. Overall, it was a wonderful and delicious experience!
fabulous food accompanied by great service, What all good inns should be, The scotch egg and mussels were equally as fresh and tasty.The Main of braised beef melted in the mouth and my partner thoroughly enjoyed her burger. Lastly the lemon meringue pie was EXCELLENT! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Booking online was a breeze, and the restaurant is easily accessible. It's dog-friendly, which is a big plus. The menu offers a great variety of options, and the staff is very attentive. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with delicious food.
