excited about the idea of finding a real English tea room with all the clichés that this implies (the cozy side, the Scottish blanket, libraries and a certain notion of comfort) we have made our eyes closed. Unfortunately, the experience proved more than disappointing. First, the interior, very design, lack of charm and intimidation. the first room has a vaguely cozy side with sofas hooded like friends, but lacks heat. It's by far the most sympathetic, though. a second small room, crossing, with red capitised benches, without real intimacy, has more canteen air than an English club. The third, the worst, is extremely noisy: close tables, white and black decoration unwarm and cozy, tables nea...

I feel a little guilty writing in this "Restaurant" template. W.H.Smith is a venerable English Book shop with a Tea Room! It's not too far from from Place de la Concorde on to Rue Rivoli. This iconic English bookseller had been at this address since 1903. I visited this unique store for a number of reasons. First of all, I grew up with this bookshop as an important part of my "literary life" and second because during WWII the Germans, whose Paris Head Quarters were a few blocks down from it at Hotel Meurice, took it over and it became Frontbuchandlung (Front Book Shop), full of Nazi literature. Today it has a Twinings Tea Shop and reading room on the second floor - very English. As soon as y...

the tea room is on the floor. 3 separate rooms for the living room. However, no intimacy. The tables are glued to each other. you can follow very easily all the discussions of all other customers (at least in the first room.) c is the negative point. However if you come exclusively to take tea and test the different pastries. c'est un régal ! visual et gustatif. Assortment to 20 euros (scones, 1 tea, 1 muffin, 1 carrot cake.) it is also possible to take a tea for 8/9 euros and count between 6 and 9 euros for a pastry. It may seem expensive but it's very good. The service is quite tense and stressed. We were there on a Saturday. Therefore instead of having a good time of relaxation, the atmos...

After a long walk, we were delighted to stop for a tea at whsmith. What disappointment we ordered an iced tea that arrived at room temperature, without ice and certainly too infused because it was acrid. In front of our astonishment, the young woman explained to us that there was a problem with the ice machine, which was not working and that the tea came out of the refrigerator. Finally, we were entitled to a 10% discount on the addition, which put the tea to €5.95 instead of €6.50. Let's also note that we had tried to install ourselves in the middle room but that we couldn't slip between the bench and the table for lack of space. to avoid absolutely Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

wonderful tea room on the second floor of the bookshop with a delicious tea in leaves in fresh and delicate teapots and desserts. The lounge also serves second dishes. I like the location (between the square of the bastille and the lover), the view from the window on the garden of the tiles, the modern interior decoration, the polite and friendly staff and, of course, the prices not biting. an ideal place to relax, eat a piece or simply read. open, surprisingly, even on Sundays!

I was looking forward to discovering this place being amateur of tea salons. I discover with pleasure that they offer a cream tea ... at 14 € !!! very good of course with the real clotted cream but so expensive when we find the same thing in very tourist places in angleterre for £ 5.00 ( 5.50 € ) Certainly because we are to bet, what is very badly serviced also to the French, little organized and long ... we could expect a management more anglo saxon and customer-orientated

Had the most amazingly relaxing time here. The range of tea is just too good. I had first flush Darjeeling and it was superb with the right time for brewing. But what too my heart away were the scones!! Delicious! The red velvet cake that my friends ordered wasn't good.. It was dry. The ambience was perfect, amongst books... Can't get better

I love this place. The tea room is in a small alcove above the book shop with a kind of 'secret' entrance door which adds further to its charm. The setting is extremely inviting and soothing. It takes you back in time. The scones are delicious. I would dissuade you from ordering the red velvet cake. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Although the main activity is the bookshop the first floor hides a tea room that also serves brunch and some dishes. The essential lies in desserts and tea, without neglecting the rest.To not miss: the 0scones with clotted cream.
