Purchased fried cod and chips and also grilled cod and chips. Both were dishes were absolutely horrible! The grilled cod was hardly grilled and was very mushy with no taste at all. The fired fish was also mushy and again had absolutely no taste at all. I never thouhht that you could get chips so wrong but the chips were also rehaleated and not cooked fresh as they tastesld like reheated cardboard.I could tell that the fish was not fresh and ended up throwing away 3 meals totalling over £30. 0 stars would be too kind a rating for this place. Wow, great food especially the chips. I tried the cheeseburger and hubby had the steak and ale pie. Best chip shop food I have had for a long time. Great table service. We had a very nice gent waiting the tables, very helpful. Also made a nice cup of tea which we really needed today as it was so cold. Really glad we stopped. Had a regular box of chips at lunchtime yesterday. The guys in the shop were v friendly and the chips were the best fish chip shop chips I've had in ages. Superb and highly recommended. Skate today, very tasty. Chips slightly less so. Plaice was good but a tad too crispy. Lovely shop and the food is consistently good. Chips come very generously.
