Food and venue extremely disappointing.. noisy bar and restaurant with staff who were unprepared.. Duck pancake starter awful! shredded duck was refried to within an inch of its life and really was just bits of nothing and hard.. Bruschetta bland and didn’t taste freshly made to order .. Fillet steak just ok but lukewarm.. lamb chops lukewarm and really no finesse to them ..had to send back as so cold .. The only thing that was hot were the chips .. ! So basically we ate separately as I waited for lamb chops to be recooked.. had to wait for coffees! The chaos in the bar should have pre warned us .. one barman who was in his first shift with no help ..some staff looked very slovenly! Surely t...
We went to the Windermere the night before our wedding, and were so pleased by how they were able to cater for us, and our small wedding party guests. We were all able to make separate bookings, but they sat us in three tables socially distanced from each other and separated by plastic screens, so we felt extremely secure, could see our family members, and provided a hilarious experience when it came to trying to sign to each other through the screens to check that everyone was having a good time. Again, the staff weren't wearing masks, and came quite close to deliver food, but as all other safety precautions were so on point and strictly adhered to, we're assuming they're regularly checking...
We decided to book this restaurant based on the excellent reviews, and we were not disappointed. It is located in a beautiful spa resort complex, and the ambiance was lovely, as were the staff. I ordered the Salmon Gravadlax and Beef Wellington, both of which were excellent. My dining companion had the Prawn and avocado starter and the Coq au vin main, which were also very well-prepared. We enjoyed a nice bottle of Malbec with our meal, though we were too full for dessert. Both of my choices had a supplement charge, but they were definitely worth it. Thank you for a delicious meal - it was worth the drive from Barrow where we were staying.
Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful hotel with the loveliest staff. Huge thank you to Nick who was beyond professional. Gave us a couple of excellent mocktails on the house as we’d had a few minor waits (which we were totally unbothered about). He also put some fresh bread in the oven for us when we asked for bread. Couldn’t have asked for better service. Mushroom soup was excellent as was the fish (both cod and sole) Really enjoyable meal

Dined here on our last night staying at the Low Wood Bay Hotel. Service was efficient and attentive from start to finish. Enjoyed our meal and drinks thoroughly. I had the vegetable minestrone soup for starter and although it could have been hotter, it was so tasty! My boyfriend would also recommend the prawn cocktail starter. For main I had the coq au vin. The whole dish was really tasty and hot. Would also recommend the beef Wellington.
I recently had one of the best three-course meals in a long time at this restaurant. The starters were excellent, the main courses were exceptional, and the desserts were delicious. I highly recommend trying their version of beef wellington. The prices were reasonable considering the current situation. I would give this restaurant six stars if I could.
Booked this last minute as there was nothing much else available, which turned out to be a great choice. Good quality food, great service and fantastic value for money 3 course meal for £31pp. Highly recommended.
Beautiful meal here while enjoying spa break, superb food service. Great atmosphere and ambiance staff were attentive friendly very helpful will definitely be back.

We celebrated a birthday with friends at a restaurant where the lovely circular table balloons were provided by the hotel, which was a nice touch.
Wonderful food in a great setting! Plenty of choice on the menu at reasonable prices. Their Shepherd’s pie was delicious, as was the steak.
