If you haven't been here, you should. While they have two locations, this one is our favourite because of the meat shop. Unbelievable quality of meat, great variety and oftentimes, cheaper than the grocery store! Not to mention local. Staff are so friendly and helpful you can tell they all take a lot of pride in their work. Best tip: they also have THE best pumpkins at Halloween if you're a serious carver; and the largest size is $5!! They're seriously the best. Can't recommend the pork rolls enough our favourite is the apple and bacon. We are fans for life.
Our favourite place to get local produce. Great local fruits and veggies for a fraction of the price charged at a grocery store or Local Source in the city. They also have ice cream (sometimes a lactose-free option , trail mix, staples (salt, pepper, oil, soy sauce, candy, chips, milk, cheese, meat... , local eggs, home decor, garden supplies.. a bit of everything! Definitely worth stopping in.
Love this market. It is always a treat to come here and get local vegetables and products. You can be sure to find seasonal things like pumpkins, apples and Christmas trees. You can also find shrubs and trees at the nursery in the spring and summer months. The market closes before Christmas and opens come Spring. Things usually get discounted the weeks in December before they close.
This was my first experience at Withrow's. A butcher show, bakery goods, fresh fruit and vegetables, gifts, flowers all in one place. And then you note the garden center loaded with fall produce pumpkins and apples, gourds and seasonal flowers. Hay and bird seeds and supplies! Wow! I have to go back soon. I gave it 4 stars because I wasn't there long enough to absorb it all.
I love this farm store! The quality variety of locally sourced meats available in the butcher section are great. Great prices, friendly customer service, nice variety of produce. The ready-to-go meals are very convenient-they taste fresh homemade. The ready to eat salads are high quality (much better than Sobeys Atlantic Superstore).
My 1st visit was today. Fantastic and friendly staff. Great prices, especially on their stews/pre-made meals. Good prices on fresh meat and it looks like they cut their own cold cuts from actual meat and not leftovers squished together and call it meat. I'll be a regular.
We found this place when new to Nova Scotia a couple years ago. Everything we bought was fresh and tasty. The first time we went, we were buying a pumpkin, and the place was really decked out and festive!
Always great service. I come here mostly for the garden center and I am never disappointed. Great selection of healthy plants.
