Dropped into our local on a whim for a Friday night meal. Seated quickly, checked out the menu and selected our meals. Proceeded to counter to order where we waited for the hostess to materialise eventually after a number of staff walked back and forth with no acknowledgement.Relatively quick plating up of meals which were average quality at best. Salt and pepper calamari/prawns were overcooked - dry and tough. Steak was ok but not the best cut and a bit tough. All in all what you'd expect for pub meals, fairly standard menu with not much variation or flair from any other local pub.
Was staying in Wynnum with a conference nearby and stopped by the wynnum tavern close by a few times.Menu and food are reasonably priced with standard pub portions.Only problem is the food is the worst I've ever seen from a place in terms of consistency. The steak sanga for example can go from cold rare to perfectly cooked and the same can be said for the chips. The sizing/portion doesn't get much better, some days you can get 1/3 more portion.It's really a hit and miss and to be perfectly honest not worth your time unless you're staying nearby with limited choices.
I have been to the "Tav" a few times as there are always specials and shopper dockets making it a really good value place to go and eat provided you dont drink anything other than water. The lunchtime specials are awesome - the only place that I can get lambs fry and bacon for less than $15 - absolutely delicious!!!! The drink prices are shocking - even soft drinks can burn a hole in your pocket............so drink water and enjoy the lovely food and ambiance of the good old "Wynnum Tav"..........
Have been here a few times with the family for dinner and must say that the food is so much better than it used to be. We had not been in almost a year. I ordered a rump special and assumed it would come out very ordinary as it was a cheaper steak option on the menu. Very surprised that my meal was better than my husbands who ordered a full price main. Staff are very friendly as well. Kids meal came out immediately- saving a micro tantrum! Will return. Cheap option to eat out and feed the family.

Wynnum tavern certainly looked after the footy fans with several big screens showing the action. They also put on a happy hour with pints@ $6 which is very good. Will be back as these guys keep the customers happy
Myself and our work crew dropped in for lunch and I had the best steak in a long time. Cooked to perfection, service was good and they had a wide selection of meals available. Very affordable
We had a group of the 4 of us today having lunch at the Wynnum Tavern. My husband and I hadn't been before today, but really enjoyed our meals. We will definitely be back.
Have eaten here many times, both lunch and dinner. Unfortunately a bit expensive for pub food. Hasn't let us down yet. Staff are always pleasant and accommodating.

Often visit here for lunch or dinner and have always had a great meal good service and the meals are good value and well suited to families
The Tavern is OKI don't go there much but it's a little like the pub over the big hill at Manly - you either love it or give it a miss.
