I dined at XO Bistro + Bar with a large group, for whom a fixed menu had been prepared. Great introduction to the restaurant. I started with Vietnamese coffee, which was delicious, but which took an inordinately long time to drip. By the time it was served, the coffee was at room temperature, not hot.The dishes that the group enjoyed included green papaya salad, gorgeous salad rolls w/shrimp, pork wrapped in betel leaves (similar to and same size as dolmathes), beef on a skewer. XO Bistro presented coffee ice cream to finish. Oh my!XO Bistro has a full bar, and serves Saigon beer.Caution to folks w/peanut allergies - Almost every dish is garnished with crushed peanuts.I am eager to return.
To start I would not order a sake bomb, when order I recieved a shot of beer and a shot of sake.. Would not recommend. Felt ripped off. The service was good and the food was okay if you like receiving a couple of noodles and 2 shrimp for 14 dollars. We also had the added bonus of enjoying the company of what seemed to be a owner/ employee enjoying some cocaine in the washroom and listening to him yell so loud the whole restaurant could hear!
Loved this place. Got the oxtail soup and oxtail fries, both delicious. The vanilla egg coffee was good but little on the sweet side. Order the beef carpaccio as well, I prefer my beef a little more raw, but otherwise the flavour is good. Clean and nice restaurant with nice decor. Pretty trendy place. Really enjoyed the 90s hip hop and RNB. Overall 4 stars, 5 stars because the waitress was cute to boot.
I would give it 6 stars but it’s not available. I tried so many restaurants in Edmonton this is an amazing fusions Vietnamese food. It’s my favorite spot to go now. Price is great for the amount of food you get and I can tell my food handled with lot of cares. Absolutely love the service as well. Egg coffee is to died for. Omg I love this place! Staff was very friendly and service was great. We had pork spring rolls, pho, sake bomb and a lemon blush cocktail. Everything was fresh. The springs rolls were plump and moist with great flavor. The lemon blush tasted like it had fresh squeezed lemons. The pho had fresh tender tasting meat with a flavorful not to salty broth.
Went to this place before an Oilers game with my kids. The pho was great. My kids loved the oxtail fries. I had the Oxtail BBH recommended by the staff. It was amazing and a nice little kick to it. Place was clean staff was friendly.
Tried the Bo Kho and Bone marrow this time around. Food always comes out in a hurry and has yet to disappoint. Great atmosphere, attentive staff, would highly recommend. ?
