After hearing great things about this under the radar yakitori joint in Haberfield, we finally gave it a shot. Food, service, atmosphere was all on point. Sat at the bar which looked onto the food being charred on the coals, watched our yakitori selection being prepared gave chicken heart a shot this time round and found it really delicious. The shabu shabu salad with pork was subtle in flavour and required condiments to amp up the flavour. The salmon tataki was the stand out and a must order! Can't wait for the time I get to Japan and eat Yakitori just as good as Yakitori Jin! Upon arrival, you a greeted with Japanese hospitality and presented with a hot towelette, why can't all restaurants be like this? I instantly felt welcomed and keen for the food to come. All the dishes were well presented and delicious, the juiciest being the chicken thigh skewers! We got the special which included 9 skewers to share for two, as well as a few others. It's so unfortunate that yakitori is on the pricier side in Sydney, because I left satisfied with flavour but wasn't necessarily full for how much we paid. Dinner for 3 to celebrate my daughter's birthday. My wife has been a bit of a Japanese sceptic but she is now well and truly converted by this experience. We didn't go nuts on the ordering but the edamame, eggplant and 11 sticks plus salmon sashimi were more than enough. We did a BYO and paid $4.50 a head for corkage. This worked out to be about $35ph. Specialising in skewers, in particular of those with various cuts of chicken (we tried thigh, heart, breast). Food is all made to order so you know it is guaranteed fresh, while the head chef is from Osaka so you know it’s authentic.<br/ <br/ We ordered the omakase set, pork belly and pork rib skewer and yakitori oyakodon. The thigh and leek skewer was our favourite and least favourite was the breast (a bit dry). Overall fantastic experience though!

There's a hidden gem of a Japanese restaurant in Haberfield and it goes by the name of Yakitori Jin. As you can tell by the name, it specialises in yakitori, chicken skewers grilled over hot charcoal. . You'll find almost every cut of chicken there is, innards and all. . The homemade gyoza are juicy, perfectly pan fried and served with a zesty dipping sauce.

We went here haven’t read a lot of good things about them. The yakitori is the best we’ve had in Sydney! Reminded us of the izakayas in Osaka!! The sashimi was really good too, certainly high end quality. Service was top shelf and very attentive. We will definitely be returning!!

I really would recommend that people order the Wagyu ChuckTail Steak, they will be amazed in how tender it is and how it just melts in the mouth.
