Decided to go to this place for sushi/ hibachi tonight because I was in town visiting family, and we needed a nice sit down dinner. To begin with, I needed reservations for an empty restaurant, which just seemed absurd. Secondly, the waiter there was extremely pushy when getting our orders, which was a whole other challenge considering how they were out of steak, chocolate milk, sprite, root beer, sparkling water, and apparently cherries needed for a Sherley Temple . Third, when asked about their children 's hibachi meal, the same waiter rudely assumed our child 's age, thinking she was older than 12 years old. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was attentive and knew exactly when to take our order, refill our drinks, and bring us the check. He consistently made sure our water glasses were full and checked on us frequently, perhaps even a bit more than necessary. The crab rangoon appetizer was delicious and paired nicely with a great sauce. My only issue was with the rice served with the teriyaki hot plate; it wasn’t quite the sticky rice I had hoped for, as it didn’t cling to the chicken as well as I expected. The sushi is consistently good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. There’s hardly any friendliness from the staff, and they don’t even ask if you’d like dessert—just simply throw the check at you and exchange only a few words. My fiancé and I live just a couple of minutes from Yama Fuji and frequently dine there or order takeout. The food is consistently delicious, the staff is wonderful—always kind and quick—and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed. We absolutely love this place!
Really good hibachi and sushi. My family comes here often and I have been with friends. The staff is always friendly and quick. The food is very good. The 2012 roll is the best one!
