Yanagi was my favorite place to go for sushi, been going there for over 10 years and recommended to family and friends. It was the best in town but this last time was a real disappointment which resulted in my Husband and I deciding that we need to find a new sushi place. The quality was awful, smaller rolls and the fish did not seem fresh. This is truly heartbreaking because we loved Yanagi, don’t know what happened. The same exact thing happened to our previous sushi place and it was due to a change in ownership/management that’s when we discovered Yanagi but now he need to find a better place.
Decided to go for sushi since our movie plans didn’t pan out. So we hit Yanagi. Made a quick reservation and were on our way.we were seated quickly and ordered 3 rolls.Spicy Tuna, Lobster Roll, and Inichi Roll. They were delicious. However, fare warning the spicy tuna was very spicy so be careful but it was very good!!! Service was good and staff was very friendly. The free endamme to munch on while you wait is also good! They also have TV’s so watching the games won’t be missed. They also have hibachi and bento probably my favorite sushi spot.
Made a reservation. Showed up 10 minutes early but host tells us they don’t have a table for us. They just seated a large party so they can’t honor reservation. What is purpose of taking a reservation if they don’t plan on honoring it. Complete incompetence. Don’t waste your time here.
the sushi was too sweet and the fried calamari was rubbery, not well cooked. I even have a dirty little bit, but I didn't complain. I went with a sick and bad motte taste. promised not to be back. on the bright side the waiter was nice.

the food was delicious. service a little slow. the prices were higher than expected. environment was ok, but noise level was very high.
Is nice to have wait staff and other server take care of me when my server was busy.
9th Birthday party! Great chef and service and delicious food!
Good experience over all, specially the hibachi live cooking.
