We visited Yarnton Garden Centre and thought we would have a nice lunch. WRONG.. Upon arrival, a very stoney faced woman asked us to Covid scan, which we did. Right, she said, you can not order food until 12 noon, we have no baguettes and one of you can go up to order. As it was 11.45, we went and sat at our assigned table and waited until 12 noon. I then went up to order. By this this time there was 12 people in the queue and the queue was growing fast. I got the front of the line to be told chef isn't ready yet and to step aside and wait with another 7 people who were also waiting for food. Finally , 15 minutes later, she took my order.. I just wanted a jacket potato with prawns marie rose...
We waited to be seated at our table, but ended up having to go to the counter to place our order. When a nearby table became available, it was not properly sanitized before being given to us, with crumbs left over from the previous customer. We mentioned this to the staff when our drinks and snacks arrived, but they only casually wiped down the table that had been vacated, not ours. The hot chocolate was made with water and not tasty, so I didn't finish it. My friend's scone was hard from being microwaved. I live in Bladon and 3 weeks ago placed an order for plants and compost with our local nursery Yarnton Home Garden. Despite numerous attempts to chase the order they have not replied to emails or telephone messages. Today by chance I’ve been able to get through only to find that all email orders are to be cancelled due to lack of stock. Why they could not inform me of this weeks ago and yet there website makes no mention of this and is still accepting online orders. Anybody local reading this would be better to try Bunkers Hill or Freeland nurseries. I’m sure they will get better service.
This garden centre has a varied selection of plants, indoors and outdoors, teamed up with stunning beautiful home ornaments, garden furniture, BBQs and more. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I felt safe as everyone was following the COVID guidelines. It was not busy. I will return to try the food once the pandemic is over.

This garden centre is absolutely charming, with a wonderful cafe, a fantastic selection of shoes at Pavers, and lovely furniture and clothing options. It was my first time visiting and I will definitely be returning. They also have a soft play area for children and party rooms available for hire.
Ordered a set of garden chairs and a table in the middle of the Covid lockdown and they were delivered by 2pm the same day, incredible! Great sturdy table stylish and weatherproof. Really recommend! Price reasonable and quality high.
I've been a customer here for 20 years, and seen many changes over that time. The service is always very friendly, and the garden centre has a good range of everything. In short, it's impressive, and a lovely place to look around.
The tea and coffee were satisfactory, but the two scones priced at £4.50 were quite disappointing. They crumbled easily and felt heavy in our mouths. The service, however, was acceptable.

Good centre with a wide range of stock. There are lots of other shops linked to the centre so well worth a bust.
