This restaurant is a popular spot for both locals and travelers passing through. Our family, who were traveling with us, insisted that we have dinner here. Despite it being a busy night and the staff being under pressure, they remained friendly. While we are not big fans of pies, we found the ones we tried to be enjoyable. The fries/chips that came with them were decent. Overall, if you enjoy a good pie, I'm sure you'll love this place.
After traveling back to Brisbane from the Gold Coast, we stopped by the Yatala Pie Shop to grab a delicious pastry right off the Pacific Highway. Instead of just passing through, we decided to park and order in. The service was prompt and friendly, with a wide selection of hearty pastries, dessert pies, and soft drinks. On a previous visit, we had also tried the drive-thru ordering service, which was equally fast and efficient.
Called in there on Sunday 15th May about 11.30am. The queue for the drive through snaked back onto the main road. I was able to get in and parked the car. Inside there was a long queue as well. Thankfully they had plenty of staff...on hand and most people had decided what they wanted whilst waiting and the queue moved quickly. The pie was great, would I go out of my way again, probably not.
the aromen are in every case on the hill in recent years. but I ordered a caramel tar for something else. looked down to eat and realize they gave me a pumpkin cake. When I took it back, I was told that I could have the caramel tare, but I would have to pay for it, because the custard did not leave the counter if buts or maybe. very disappointed. you've been relying on you. Don't waste your time stopping for a Yatala Pie. Veggie Pie has no flavour and clear jelly like **** holding it together. Could not eat the Pie disgusting. Waste of my money purchasing family size pie. The 2 staff that serviced us did not look...like they wanted to be at work no customer service skills, not even a smile.
This restaurant is overrated. The steak and mushroom pies were flavorless and the chips were terrible, likely cooked in old oil. If you prefer bland food, you may enjoy this place. However, if you appreciate nuanced flavors that evoke memories and emotions, this is not the pie shop for you.
they told about this place for the old one. of reality. the baked was good on the chicken stable, but the filling was like tasteless muddy karton. the cake and custard cake could not have bought a brand name. do not recommend it especially in view of the...White about wochenenden.
almost an institution in this part of the world, travel to home from the coast would not be the same if they did not stop at the pier shop. there is a great choice of cake to choose, both hearty and sweet, and all look delicious. Having been going to the Yatla Pie Shop for many years, we visited again today and WOW they haven’t changed a bit. Mushroom and Meat Pie with Mushy Peas and Gravy just YUMMY. Brought Apple Turnovers home for Dessert and they were just the Best....Wish we lived closer.
