Yayas brings back fond memories for me. Although I live in Pomona now, I grew up in Hunting Park, and I always make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in the area. The torta de milanesa is absolutely the best; I've never encountered one that even comes close. The tacos dorados de papa are fantastic as well. And honestly, their French fries are far superior to those from McDonald's!
Yayas is a hidden gem in Huntington Park, the burgers taste great and their well known for their tortas. It's a really tiny place so I don't recommend it for a party bigger than 4. Its more a place for college students because the prices are affordable. I took a star away because the restrooms are outside and they're REALLY NASTY. They accept orders over phone.
Love is in the air! My family and I have been frequenting Yaya ever since we moved to HP, and it has consistently been a great experience. I’ve placed phone orders for takeout, which have been quite good, although the phone connection isn’t always perfect. Additionally, the restaurant itself is quite small, so it’s not ideal for large groups to sit together.
**Update (March 26, 2023):** We can now dine in! The cashier I mentioned before has left, but we have a new one now—let’s see how that goes. The food remains the same, though it has become more expensive. **Update (January 9, 2024):** We wanted to have dinner around 7:50 p.m., but they were already closed. It's a good idea to call ahead before going.
I love this spot I always get the torta chilanga and I add a nopal asado (grill cactus) to it my husband has tried the Azteca, gringa and cubana he has loved all 3 of them but his favorite is the Cubana. It's a small family friendly place the restrooms are outside but they're clean and the cashier is super nice and welcoming.
The Western Burger special is fantastic. The BBQ sauce they put on it isn't overpowering. You must try the grilled chicken club. It will knock your socks off your taste buds. The place is small and can get busy so you might have to wait outside.
The quality of the food—whether it's the produce, meat, or bread—is consistently outstanding. I've dined at Yaya's twice and will definitely keep coming back to this excellent establishment. Their tortas are sure to impress!
Friendly staff, great variety. My first time there and order torta cubana, con todo y extra jalapeños. Can't wait to try out other recommendations. Also try all three flans con orchata. Too good!!
Love there food they have like around 50 types of tortas to choose from and they sale Mexican food also the prices are not bad at all.
