I recently came here with a new friend of mine who raved about this place and encouraged me to try it with him while he was in town. Needless to say, I had a great experience for my first time!I read some Google reviews ahead of time along with other people's recommendations (while looking at the menu). I will say their sushi is AMAZING and did not disappoint. We ordered all types of sushi but I would highly recommend the Boston roll, Philadelphia roll and the Alaska roll (since those were my personal favorites). I also highly recommend their house chardonnay which is crisp, smooth and sweet!The only things that could have made my experience better include having more booth seating for guest...
During my most recent visit, we were seated right away but had to ask for our menus after about 10 minutes. It took three attempts for my appetizer to be delivered correctly, likely due to a mix-up with a similar dish. All in all, I would definitely come back now that my expectations are set. I'm just generally disappointed with the service. We've had different wait staff each time, so it's not just one person to blame. Perhaps it's a training issue or something in the kitchen? I’m keeping an open mind for future visits to see if things improve, because the food is truly delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great.
**Helpful Information:** The service can be quite slow. They serve Coke in cans. While the portion sizes are generous, the presentation differs from what you might find elsewhere. The Philly roll contained asparagus, which was unexpected. The atmosphere is pleasant, and our server was friendly, though the restaurant seems to be understaffed. The cleanliness of the place is commendable. Prices are on the higher side, but they do offer a happy hour with more reasonable prices.
The sushi at Yen's is always top notch! The best in town as far as I'm concerned. It's always fresh and tasty. I couldn't be happier with their food. The GrubHub driver on the other hand, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!! She didn't follow very explicit directions on how to find my apartment and took it to the wrong building. This is undoubtedly the best sushi we've discovered in the Phoenix area! I highly recommend visiting during happy hour at 8 PM and trying the Crazy Boy roll along with the vegetable gyoza. I can't emphasize enough how amazing the Crazy Boy roll is; if you can get over the fact that it's fried sushi, it will be a game-changer. Another personal favorite is the Alaska Roll. Overall, everything is fresh, and the service is great. I strongly recommend Yen Sushi!
Looked up best sushi spots in Glendale area and this spot came up. The goggle search wasn?t wrong. The rolls we got were amazing. I would say my favorite roll was the Baked lobster roll, but honestly they were all great. The sake and beer wasamazing too. I highly recommend you check this spot out. The service was great too, they were very friendly and helpful.
I really enjoy this local restaurant! First of all, the prices are very reasonable. They offer a wide variety of food options. The sushi is fresh and delicious, the restaurant is clean, and the service is excellent. The waitstaff is very friendly and consistently attentive to the customers. I want to express my gratitude for accommodating my shellfish allergy and allowing me to customize a roll by replacing the shellfish with salmon. This was the first time I truly LOVED a sushi roll I could enjoy, and I finished the entire roll by myself! Food: 5/5
