Been wanting to go here for a while, feel like Yoshi's is a Lakeview hidden gem (very unassuming from the outside). Came at 6:30 on a Sunday for a reservation and were seated right away. I had a ginger cosmopolitan and I love that they shake it tableside and pour. Super refreshing and just a hint of ginger (boyfriend had a beer). We started with the Korean fried chicken: incredible. Super light and crispy but rich and fatty at the same time. Then we shared the Wagyu burger (just as good as everyone says) and the Asian skirt steak. I wasn't reading the menu so I didn't realize it came on top of a salad but it was SO good: refreshing, steak was super tender and the dressing was just the perfec...

If your ever in Boystown stop here. This place was outstanding! Service was great. Got right in on a Friday at 6. The food was better than I anticipated. The burger was cooked and seasoned perfectly medium with the perfect amount of onions and pickles. Its the best new burger I have had this year. I tried my friends mushroom soup, and charred radicchio salad and those too were awesome. The portions are a little small, but I was fine with that. I just ordered more delicious food. Everything was so good we shared dessert and the lava cake was so good. Hours after this meal I was savoring every belch that tasted like dinner. Disgusting I know, but it was worth mentioning. Can't wait to go back...
First time coming to this place . We picked it because it was part of restaurant week. The brunch menu was a really good deal . I loved the fried chicken , the desserts and the drinks the most . I didn't care about the scrambled eggs with muffin , the Japanese Omu rice was much better , that wine sauce was really tasty . I'm still dreaming about their chocolate lava cake . What I didn't like about this place was the service , we easily had to wait around 20-30 minutes between courses , our waiter forgot to bring a couple extra dishes we order at the beginning (besides the restaurant week menu and it was hard to get his attention . We wanted to order more drinks , try more things but it was j...
I really like the interior design of this place, which, depending on where you sit, is an airy cafe, a bar, or a fairly intimate restaurant. Like most fusion places, they 're not really doing a fusion of cuisines, but just offering more than one, in this case, Japanese and French, with a bit of American thrown in. My favorite dish was the mussels, which were served in a wonderful somewhat spicy broth that made a great soup, too. The tuna tartare was also excellent quality, and the tempura was light and not oily. The wine list emphasizes French wines, with some nice selections, but no bargains. Service was friendly. Yoshi's is a neighborhood institution, and for some odd reason this was my first time visiting despite living in the neighborhood for 10+ years. WHAT A MISTAKE on my part! Everything was perfect about our experience, from the food, to drinks, to service to COVID precautions. Highly recommend the Wagyu double smash burger but everything ordered from my party looked delicious and everyone was satisfied. Trust me, it won't be another 10 years until I go back...
Japanese/French cuisine for brunch. Service was very friendly and we were the largest/one very few tables for brunch. I thought the items were priced a bit high but the portions made up for that. If you're looking for something light but still satisfyingly homey, I would recommend the Japanese set. Lovely combination of everything. Also for brunch, they had a discount on Bellini! Very quiet restaurant for a personal brunch. Perfect!
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed every dish and our experience at Yoshis Cafe. I had been longing to visit as it is a unique Japanese-French fusion restaurant that is rare to find in Chicago. My personal favorites were the oyster shooter and the cream of mushroom soup. I am thrilled to bring my family and friends to Yoshi's Cafe in the future!
Junya was a fantastic server, absolutely hilarious. Made my night, bright me fantastic cocktails (my compliments to the bartender) He was super friendly and absolutely made my night. I'm definitely glad I came here, I don't think I would have had as much fun tonight without his fantastic attitude Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The food was delicious, but the server seemed a bit stressed because they were understaffed due to COVID. Despite this, we still tipped 20% because we know times are tough for restaurants right now.
I am not sure who owns this now, can I rent a parking space from Yoshis parking lot? Thanks!
